Coming from a third world country to the United States for a better education as a child meant making a lot of sacrifices. For starters, I had to work multiple jobs just to help make ends meet. I remember throwing a paper route with my mom in the early hours of the morning before heading off to High School. I also remember working at car washes in the afternoon after school. Even after getting a job in the accounting profession, I remember waiting tables at night in the early parts of my career to raise extra money.
No matter what the hustle was back in the 80’s and 90’s, they all involved me physically leaving my home to go work for someone to make extra income. So much has changed since then and in the 21st century, there are a plethora of ways to make money from the comforts of your own home. Thanks to advancements in technology and the internet making our world a much smaller place, we can now have a side hustle, right from the comforts of our own home and make pretty decent money, all while avoiding traffic. While this isn’t an exhaustive list, here are 3 simple ways to make money from home.
Online Tutor
As a parent of someone in middle school, I know that the transition from 6th to 7th grade is pretty intense both in terms of the magnitude of work, but also the breadth of what these kids are learning. Whether it’s math or science, there’s no shortage of subjects where middle schoolers’ are in need of a tutor. These kids and their parents are quite content with working with a tutor online which as hectic as parents’ schedules can get, this online option provides some much-needed flexibility to both parent and child, while providing some extra KIZZZASH to you, the online tutor, as you make money from home.
Online Surveys
The demand for companies to get feedback from their current or prospective customers is on the rise. Companies have an insatiable appetite for market research and this bodes well for those willing to spend a few minutes online helping these companies out by filling out online surveys. Once you’ve identified authentic sites to work with, this creates a win-win situation. Companies get access to the market research they are seeking and you add yet another avenue to make money from home.
Freelance Writing
This is probably one of the best ways to make money from home. With sites like elance.com, guru.com, upwork.com and a host of others, it’s now easier than ever for one who has freelance writing skills to make money from home. Most freelance writers can negotiate lump sump payments for their work or they can get paid per the word count.
Working with a business or financial coach can help you identify other ways to make money from home that are best suited to your skill sets and passions.
