The USDA is just as much of a fan of Black Panther as the rest of the universe, and has added Wakanda to their official Tariff Tracker on their website. The 2018 box office smash hit feed audiences to the fictional world of Wakanda, a secluded oasis that opened up its borders to the world at the end of the film. Cries of “Wakanda Forever! ” were discovered round the world after the movie premiere, and the film continues to make an impact over a year after its release.

Black Panther told the story of Wakandian prince T’Challa, following his clash is not simply to agree his once nonviolent world with evil intruders intent on stealing Wakanda’s hoarded vibranium but too duking it out with his long-lost cousin Killmonger who was vying for the throne as well as the designation of Black Panther. According to NBC News, Wakanda was listed as a free trade country in the Tariff Tracker on the official USDA website. While the Tariff Tracker finding was a fun Easter egg for Marvel fans to find, USDA spokesperson Mike Illenberg was immediate to explain how Wakanda terminated up being recognized as a free trade country.

“Over the past few weeks, the Foreign Agricultural Service staff who maintain the Tariff Tracker have been using experiment enters is to make sure that the system is running properly. The Wakanda information should have been removed after testing and has now been taken down.”

Wakanda’s inclusion in the Tariff Tracker was discovered by Jain Family Institute peer Francis Tseng. Tseng said the discovery made him do a double take and he even googled Wakanda merely to double check that it was in fact a imaginary country. After Tseng announced about the accidents on his Twitter page and garnered national scrutiny in the fast-paced way simply the Internet can allow, Wakanda was quickly deleted from the Tariff Tracker.
