This is how I market my original music online in 2019. Content marketing, multiple revenue streams, and reinvestment in advertising. Rinse and repeat.

I went from earning $0 to $2,000 per month on Patreon in only 5 months to support my music as a working songwriter. First, I followed the crowdfunding strategies of key Patreon leaders such as Peter Hollens, Pomplamoose, Nataly Dawn, Jack Conte, Walk Off the Earth, Amanda Palmer and many others. Second, I introduced great value in my patron rewards by offering my patrons exclusive, high end Facebook advertising and marketing packages. Then, I went out to small businesses, bands, musicians and entrepreneurs and got clients both locally and on-line. All resulting in my rapid growth and acceleration on Patreon supporting my music and life as an independent, working artist.
