Taylor Swift Despatched Her Brother to Assist Purchase Again Her Masters. Then He Stood Beside Her at Her Marriage ceremony

Austin Swift returned to public attention when Taylor Swift chose her younger brother as her man of honor at her July 3 wedding to Travis Kelce.

A new Daily Mail profile describes Austin as private and looks at his path from acting roles to work inside Taylor’s business operation. Some of the report’s claims about his private feelings rely on unnamed sources, and Austin has not publicly responded to the article.

His publicly listed screen roles slowed after 2019, but his work in entertainment continued. Austin earned producing credits on Taylor’s projects, including Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions and the “I Bet You Think About Me (Taylor’s Version)” music video.

In 2025, Taylor said Austin and their mother, Andrea Swift, helped negotiate the deal that gave her ownership of the master recordings for her first six albums. Less than a year later, Austin stood beside her at Madison Square Garden when she married Kelce.

Austin Swift Built an Acting Career Before Moving Behind the Camera

Austin studied film at the University of Notre Dame and graduated in 2015. People said he made his big-screen debut the following year in I.T., a crime thriller starring Pierce Brosnan.

He later appeared in Ben Affleck’s Live by Night, the political comedy series Embeds, Billy Ray Cyrus’ Still the King and films including Cover Versions, We Summon the Darkness and Braking for Whales. He also co-produced We Summon the Darkness.

“I’m pretty reserved in most circumstances, so [acting] never seemed like it would be a good fit,” Austin told People in 2018. He said theater gave him another creative outlet after he “kind of got thrust into it.”

His Producing Work Became Tied to Taylor’s Projects

Austin’s credits later moved closer to Taylor’s own film and music work. People lists him as an executive producer on Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions, Taylor’s Disney+ special tied to her 2020 album.

He also worked on the “I Bet You Think About Me (Taylor’s Version)” music video, which Blake Lively directed. People said Austin, Taylor and Lively were nominated at the Academy of Country Music Awards in the video of the year category for that project in the video of the year category for that project.

Taylor described the Swifts as a close working unit in her 2023 Time Person of the Year interview. “My dad, my mom, and my brother come up with some of the best ideas in my career,” she said, adding, “I always joke that we’re a small family business.”

Taylor Sent Austin and Andrea to Help Buy Back Her Masters

Taylor announced in May 2025 that she had purchased the master recordings for her first six albums from Shamrock Capital. The deal also included music videos, concert films, album art, photos and unreleased material connected to that part of her career.

During her New Heights interview in August 2025, Taylor said she did not begin the final push through lawyers or management. “Rather than send lawyers or management, I sent my mom and my brother, who I work with, to L.A.,” she said, according to People.

She said Andrea and Austin sat down with Shamrock Capital and explained what the recordings meant to her. “They told them the whole story,” Taylor said. “This changed my life. I can’t believe it still. I’m so grateful.”

The Wedding Put Austin Beside Taylor Again

Taylor and Kelce did not use a traditional wedding party for their Madison Square Garden ceremony. People confirmed that Austin served as Taylor’s man of honor, while Jason Kelce served as Travis’ best man.

Austin had already spent time around Kelce before the wedding. People noted that he attended Chiefs games with Taylor and their parents, dressed as Santa Claus for a Christmas Day game in 2023 and gave Kelce a VHS copy of Little Giants, one of Kelce’s favorite football movies.

Kelce also included Austin in photos from a 2025 offseason hiking and fishing trip. Austin’s own public life has remained quieter; he has been linked to model Sydney Ness, though he has not made many public comments about the relationship.

Taylor Has Publicly Praised Her Brother Before

Taylor called Austin “one of my best pals” in a 2020 Facebook post promoting We Summon the Darkness. People also noted that she has supported his acting work publicly, including skipping the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2014 to see him perform in a University of Notre Dame play.

Austin has also written public tributes to Taylor. In one birthday post, he called her “a best friend, a role model, and a caring, tireless, dedicated champion in my corner,” according to People.

At Taylor’s June 2026 Songwriters Hall of Fame induction, Austin was in the audience as she thanked her parents and brother for moving from Pennsylvania to Nashville so she could pursue songwriting.
