Social Media and local business now there in does lie a big question. Social media is taking the world by storm or so it seems. Is it just our teenage sons and daughters who are at it or is it a local couple in Lancashire in need or a private Dentist rushing to Twitter? This article explores the possibilities and what to look out for.

In reality online business is booming with over three quarters of consumers now shopping on line for all manner of things including, fruit and veg, holidays and plumbers and accountants. The first step for any business wanting to do more on line is to make sure that what they have is working optimally for them. Running off to face book or twitter is all well and good yet if you have no main authority site linked to you .Your efforts could prove fruitless.

The whole point of social media is to interact so that people get an experience of you that makes them want to find out more. Hopefully by picking up the phone or more likely reading you website and all about you.

As online marketers we manage various companies’ social media and implement it where the evidence suggests it will Work From Home. The internet is moving so fast this is an area that can’t be ignored. What I would suggest is claim you stake in the social media space. That way your own name and business name are not snagged by someone else. Who later might hold you to a king’s ransom?

Make sure you always have your ear to the ground and are interacting with your clients on a regular basis if in doubt ask them. If it is a possibility as a new marketing vehicle, setting up some key social media sites can happen quite quickly.

As always marketing is evolving just make sure you know which direction your tribe wants to go in
