This video stands for the proposition that NOW is a great time to build your readership and fan base with these 3 book marketing strategies and tips for authors during this time of required social distancing. Use the time you have now wisely by marketing your books from the comfort of your home or office. Your readers and potential readers are looking for distraction and something to read. They are also looking to connect and bond. So step one is to not spend your day in panic mode. Keep up with what’s going on and follow the advice of public health authorities but may I suggest you turn off the constant news that keeps you distracted and in fear. You need not let fear control your actions. That will only stifle your creativity not mention damage your ability to fight illness.

Here are the 3 book marketing strategies and tips for authors that you can apply during this time of social distancing.

1. You can arrange to do podcast interviews. People are listening to podcasts especially now more than ever. Use this time to reach out to podcasters in your niche. Book yourself on podcasts that serves your core demographic otherwise known as your readership.

2. Write some guest blog posts. Once again millions of people are stuck at home most are surfing the web including more time reading their favorite blogs. You may not have a large audience but I guarantee there are many blogs in your niche that do. Find those blogs, pitch them on a guest blog post and get in front of a brand new audience.

3. Do live streams to your social media contacts. If you own a smartphone you have in your hands a broadcast television station. And you can do live television broadcast on a host of social media including YouTube, Facebook, and Periscope. Jump on a chat with your peeps. But when you do, have a plan – don’t just ramble. I suggest that you get on and do a tip, or answer some FAQ’s or ask them for their tips or suggestions. The cool thing about live streaming is you can engage and interact in real-time thus allowing you further opportunity to build a relationship with your audience.

Above all… strive to bring value to the lives of the people you serve. I call this “being a blessing.” Whatever you send out into the world comes back to you in multiples. It’s a karmic law. So use these strategies and tips for authors that you can implement from home to spread your goodness.

Control what you can and stay safe.

Be the blessing
