In partnership with First Boulevard, a Black-owned bank, performer Terrence’ J’ Jenkins is advocating for increase business literacy opportunities for students at historically Black college and university( HBCUs ).

Under the initiative, Project Tassels, a video series will be created to touch on areas of money management including savings, planning and credit scores, Black Enterprise reported.

In a inspect of 1,000 Black adults, carried out by Self Financial, 47% of respondents were worried about being adjudicated for their credit score.

“I wasn’t absolutely knowledgeable about the importance of business proficiency while attending North Carolina A& T State University, or even in the early stages of my profession, ” Jenkins said. “Had I known then what I know now about opulence building, I would’ve taken small steps to better manage my finances sooner.”

As an alum of North Carolina A& T State University, Jenkins has committed to supporting HBCUs over the years. Most recently, last month, he partnered with Aladdin Campus Dining to establish healthy eating curricula at HBCUs, according to Black Enterprise.
