I was enticed to purchase this compilation album when I noticed prime songs by the unique teams that made them well-known: Commodores, Average White Band, Earth Wind And Fire, Kool and The Gang, Patti LaBelle, Jean Knight, Carl Douglas, Rose Royce, Curtis Mayfield, Isaac Hayes, Ohio Players, Chic, The Gap Band, Rick James, and extra. I liked most of those tracks once they have been new, and I’m not ashamed to say that I nonetheless do (at the very least most of them) 🙂 There are tracks from teams with nice success and longevity, and a few which are one-hit wonders, however this can be a good sampling of the age of Funk. These tracks are good for listening, dancing (when you nonetheless do), and reminiscing.
