Don’t just sell an internet based product or affiliate marketing service online, think about who your ideal customer is first and tailor your offer based on the needs, wants, fears and hopes of that ideal customer before you try to earn money and drive traffic online.

Better to put your offer in front of the right, thirsty, targeted customers online rather than make the beginners mistake of just casting your net out far and wide and hope you make money. I’ve done both and I know which one has been significantly more successful for me!

Em 2020 customers are too busy and are bombarded by too much media and social messaging online to have their attention spiked by generic ‘this is useful for everyone’ type messages. Consumers are more likely to be attracted by messages and offers which feel targeted directly at them individually which understand their world, which describes their specific, individual pain points and appeals to their personal aspirations.

Whether you are based in the UK, from home, or across the world, don’t just pick a niche for your internet business, pick a sub-niche, or a sub-sub-niche that you know (or could research) well. Understand who your ideal target customer is first, their demographics, their fears, their hopes. Then, and only then, think how you can position and communicate your product or service’s unique benefits to appeal to that specific target market.
