Paul McCartney performed a Beatles classic at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Madison Square Garden wedding reception.
A source told People that McCartney, 84, sang “I Want to Hold Your Hand” after the couple’s July 3 ceremony in New York City. Andrea Swift invited guests into the reception room, where a stage had been set up.
The Sun added that McCartney also performed “I Saw Her Standing There.” The second Beatles song should stay tied to that outlet because People only confirmed “I Want to Hold Your Hand.”
Stevie Nicks also performed at the reception, with Robin Roberts confirming the appearance on Good Morning America. The Sun said Nicks sang Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” with Swift before Swift performed two of her own songs.

McCartney’s confirmed song choice was “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” the Beatles single that became the group’s first No. 1 hit in the United States. The former Beatle was among the celebrity guests seen leaving Madison Square Garden after the wedding.
The reception followed a closely guarded ceremony inside the arena. The Associated Press said Adam Sandler officiated, Austin Swift served as Swift’s man of honor and Jason Kelce served as Kelce’s best man.
Stevie Nicks Also Took the Stage
Nicks’ performance added another major music name to the reception. Roberts, who attended the wedding, discussed the performance on Good Morning America and described the ceremony as intimate despite the scale of Madison Square Garden.
The Sun said Nicks and Swift sang “Dreams” together, then Swift performed two of her own songs. That detail has not been confirmed by People or Reuters, so it should remain attributed to The Sun.
Swift and Nicks have had a public friendship for years. Nicks wrote the prologue poem for Swift’s album The Tortured Poets Department, and Swift has repeatedly spoken about her admiration for the Fleetwood Mac singer.
Swift and McCartney Had Publicly Praised Each Other
Swift and McCartney appeared together on the cover of Rolling Stone in 2020. In June, Swift reshared McCartney’s Instagram post about his album The Boys of Dungeon Lane and called him an “eternally exceptional artist.”
McCartney also spoke about Swift’s fame during a BBC Sounds interview, comparing her global attention to the Beatlemania era. “You do see the parallel, you know the fame and the amount of fame,” he said, according to People.
He said Swift did not need advice from him, though he would offer it if she asked.
The Reception Followed a Closely Guarded MSG Ceremony
Swift and Kelce exchanged 20-minute vows from gold books before the reception began, according to People’s inside account. The celebration included food stations, Italian cuisine, sushi, passed trays and “bars everywhere.”
The wedding drew hundreds of celebrities, athletes, close friends and relatives. Reuters listed Selena Gomez, Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, Bradley Cooper, Gigi Hadid, Gracie Abrams, Jason Sudeikis, Hugh Grant and McCartney among the guests spotted entering or leaving MSG.
The Sun also described games, karaoke and disposable cameras at the reception, with the cameras collected at the end of the night so the couple could develop the photos.
