discussing do you need a website to do online marketing

Do you need a website to start online marketing?
Some would say no and some would say yes
this really depends on who you talk to.
I’ve been in the online marketing industry for some time
now. Close to 5 years and I’ve seen people make alot of
money without having to have a website of there own.
This is usually the case for most online marketers
but if you are trying to make this long term income stream
and build it into a business you should always look to
have your own website even if your main goal is to do
affiliate marketing.
Reason being sites like Facebook, twitter, instagram and yes
even Youtube can block you from marketing affiliate links
on there site.
They can shut you down at any time.
You don’t own the content you post to any social website
but if you have your website that you market through
you can more less control the narrtive on that site.
You have more opportunities to make money because its
your site. Its your digital real estate.
So if you’ve watched the videos before hand in my Online marketing 101
series. I talked about picking a niche.
This is where that comes in handy now that you’ve picked a niche
you need to create a website around that niche.
The domain name, to the hosting, to design should be based around that
particular niche.
This will lead you in the direction of how you would want to build your business
and not just start randomly promoting links on different social media sites.
Having direction is key when it comes to online marketing
because this is such a broad entity that you can start to lose focus.
Once that happens its hard to get back on a solid direction.
