‘The Witcher’ Season 4 Provides Sharlto Copley, James Purefoy, and Danny Woodburn

Sharlto Copley, James Purefoy, and Danny Woodburn have joined The Witcher season four cast. Season four of the Netflix fantasy-drama based on the book series by Andrzej Sapkowski also stars Liam Hemsworth and Laurence Fishburne.

According to Variety, “Copley will play the infamous bounty hunter Leo Bonhart from The Witcher novels. Purefoy will play Skellen, a high-ranking spy and court advisor to Emhyr who is also a prominent figure in the novels. Woodburn will play Zoltan, a fan-favorite dwarf character from the novels and Witcher video games.”

The official description for season four of The Witcher reads: “After the shocking, Continent-altering events that close out season three, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri who are faced with traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons apart from each other. If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire — and finding one another again.”

Liam Hemsworth Replaces Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia in ‘The Witcher’ Season Four

In season four of The Witcher, Liam Hemsworth will take over the role of monster hunter Geralt of Rivia, a role played for the first three seasons by Henry Cavill. Hemsworth said in a statement published by Tudum:

“My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for season four. In my stead, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf. As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam’s take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men. Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him, enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find.”

Hemsworth added, “As a Witcher fan, I’m over the moon about the opportunity to play Geralt of Rivia. Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I’m honored that he’s handing me the reins and allowing me to take up the White Wolf’s blades for the next chapter of his adventure. Henry, I’ve been a fan of yours for years and was inspired by what you brought to this beloved character. I may have some big boots to fill, but I’m truly excited to be stepping into The Witcher world.”

According to Variety, The Witcher season four will begin production sometime this spring. The previous three seasons of The Witcher are available for streaming on Netflix.
