Market Life, Social Documentary Photography Project (Image #9)

Photography And Post Processing – Me.

This image/photograph is quite strong and the man in the foreground seems so unaware that i was photographing him which makes this photograph look more natural not forced. I only used a standard lens for this shot as it is the only one i have at the moment but I’m intending to build up my collection when i have some more money on me and earning from my passion for photography which is quite hard/competitive. As i used a basic lens i had to get pretty close without my subject staring directly at me. It was just a case of me standing directly there and then clicking away at the camera button to get the visual imagery i wanted. The facial expression on the mans face is priceless, it becomes part of social history and it has been documented/recorded. This makes the image quite depressing, grim and shows the reality of gritty real life in some parts of Birmingham.

I like the background also which shows everybody shopping for cheap bargains, maybe the credit crunch going on all over the United Kingdom/England and other parts of the world is directly related to this. The last few months have been tough for everyone it has affected, then there is the outbreak of Swine Flu making matters worst and hopefully things will pick up in time for the summer. It gets me reflecting about what really is going on today. I think the best thing from all this documentary work is that i have been allowed to explore street photography which is one of my main interests in which i like the raw urban feel it can give to an image.
