Katie Price is revisiting one of her most public celebrity feuds in her new Sky documentary.
The former glamour model looks back at her early-2000s tension with Victoria Beckham in Katie Price: Nothing to Hide, a four-part Sky Original series coming to Sky and NOW on July 8. The Sun reported that Katie recalls feeling pushed aside while her then-boyfriend Dane Bowers was promoting “Out of Your Mind” with Victoria.
Dane, who dated Katie from 1998 to 2000, teamed with Victoria and True Steppers on the 2000 single. Katie says in the documentary that her relationship with Dane started to change once Victoria entered the picture.
The new comments revive a feud that has followed both women for more than two decades.
Katie Price Said Dane Bowers Changed Around Victoria Beckham
In the first episode of Katie Price: Nothing to Hide, Katie calls Dane the “love of her life” and says their relationship was strong before his collaboration with Victoria Beckham became a major promotional moment.
“The relationship sort of changed, as if he [had] something better and I was a nothing because it’s now Victoria, and Victoria and Victoria,” Katie says in the documentary, according to The Sun.
She then mocks the repetition of Victoria’s name before explaining how the situation fed into the breakdown of her relationship with Dane.
She Recalled Not Being Allowed To Visit Dane On The Promo Trail
Katie says she was usually allowed to go with Dane while he worked, but that changed during his promotional run with Victoria.
“He had this job to do, and I was always allowed to go with him, but on this trip, I wasn’t allowed and I didn’t understand why I wasn’t allowed,” she says in the documentary, according to The Sun.
She adds that she was left in tears and wondered what had happened to the Dane she knew. The moment became part of a wider collapse that also involved arguments over her glamour work.
Dane Ended The Relationship After A Calendar Shoot
Katie says Dane had not been happy about her posing topless, so she had started covering up more in shoots. But when she was offered the chance to do a calendar, she decided not to turn it down.
“Why would I turn down doing a calendar?” she says in the documentary. “That’s one of the great things to do, having your own calendar.”
The Sun reported that Dane gave her an ultimatum: if she did the calendar, the relationship was over. Dane says in the show that when the shots came out, he told her, “That’s it, we’re over.”
Out Of Your Mind Put Victoria And Dane In The Spotlight
The song at the center of the old tension was “Out of Your Mind,” released by True Steppers, Dane Bowers and Victoria Beckham in 2000.
The track became a major UK pop moment because it marked Victoria’s first solo release away from the Spice Girls. It also put Dane and Victoria together for performances, promo appearances and heavy media coverage at the exact time Katie says she felt cut out.
The feud around the women has been retold many times since then. The Sun reported that past public clashes included claims that Victoria called Katie “vile” on live TV, while Katie later hit back with comments about Victoria’s looks.
The Sky Documentary Reopens Katie’s Old Headlines
Katie Price: Nothing to Hide is produced by Louis Theroux’s Mindhouse and directed by Paddy Wivell. Sky said the four-part series uses unseen archive and first-time testimony from people close to Katie to revisit three decades of public life.
The series covers Katie’s rise as Jordan, her relationships, motherhood, marriages, scandals, cosmetic surgery, bankruptcy and betrayal, according to Sky.
The Victoria Beckham and Dane Bowers story gives the documentary one of its most recognizable early-2000s flashpoints. Katie is not just retelling a feud with another famous woman; she is putting that feud back inside the relationship she says changed when Dane and Victoria became a pop partnership.
