Increase Online Traffic

Increase Online Traffic

If you have a website, then you understand how important it is to get visitors to your site. This isn’t always easy to figure out, but there are several proven ways that you can increase online traffic. One of the better ways to do this is through article marketing. As you will see, there are plenty of things you can do to improve the effectiveness of this method.

Let’s start with a quick definition of what article marketing is, as that will help you get the most from your efforts. Article marketing is writing and publishing articles that point back to your website. Of course if it were that simple, then there would be nothing more to say, but that’s not the case. Article marketing to increase online traffic is a simple concept, but it is more complicated if you want to do it right.

The first thing you need to do is find out what keywords people are actually using to find sites like yours. Guessing isn’t good enough, so you need to find a good keyword tool that tells you how many people are searching for each keyword. Once you have your keywords, you can work them into your article. However, don’t overdo it! You want your article to rank well for your chosen keyword, but you don’t want to use it too often, otherwise you will be penalized by the search engines.

When writing an article, write it for people first and the search engines second. In other words, readability and clarity should never take a back seat to what an automated bot will see. You still want to keep both in mind, but because you will be posting your articles in directories, it is human readers that need to be given the priority.

If you are writing for people first, then you want to provide all of the information in your articles as you can, right? Well, a lot of people think so, but the truth is that is one of the last things you want to do. Remember, you are trying to increase online traffic back to your site, not to your article. In other words, the article’s sole purpose is to get people to click a link that goes to your site. If you provide too much information, then there will be no need for them to get more information on your website.

The solution is to write articles that sound informative and helpful, but also create a curiosity and red hot desire to get more information. You can give away one or two pieces of information, but you don’t want to give away the whole store either, so to speak.

One well-written article can pick up a lot of traction, and that can lead to a lot of visitors to your site. However, don’t stop at just one article, maybe one article a day at the minimum, but don’t stop at just a few. Think of every article as a potential money maker, and as a way to increase online traffic to your site.
