This document is the product of a wierd and fascinating time. When I began writing Gathering, I felt uninterested in dwelling within the shadow of my earlier self, my earlier work, however greater than discouraged, I felt charged with the likelihood and the liberty of chopping myself unfastened from my very own and others expectations. I started with an thrilling sense of dissatisfaction, and what emerged, as I started to seek out my voice, was a document filled with storms. Some, like Feels Like Lightning or Friendamine, are bodily storms. Others, like Dreams, are inside ones. Listening to those songs now, I hear uncertainty, mania, laughter and unhappiness, all vying for his or her place on the album. I was stunned by the brand new voice.
I have been writing data for nearly twenty years now. Each one has been totally different from the final in topic and type, however with Gathering I really feel I’ve discovered a brand new electrical dissatisfaction, a brand new approach to rejoice because the storm rolls in.
