Using the app is easy. As soon as you are done shopping at a grocery store, convenience store, drugstore, or liquor store, simply scan your receipt with the app.

If you only do shopping online, don’t worry! Fetch will also accept certain kinds of digital receipts now. Currently it is available only for iOS users, however, they are working on making it work for Android users as well.

In order to get your points, however, you must remember to scan the receipt within 14 days of receiving it. You can also only scan 14 receipts every 7 days. Receipts are generally processed within a few seconds after you submit them.

Which each receipt scanned, you will earn points. The number of points you get is determined by the items you bought. Once you accumulate enough points, you can get gift cards to over a hundred different retailers.

There are literally over a hundred brands Fetch rewards you for buying from. Below we’ve listed just some of the most popular ones, sorted by category.

Getting Paid

There are three ways to earn points with this program. Below, we’ll discuss each one and the ways you can earn them.

Base Points

Every participating brand on your receipt will earn you Base Points. These are determined by the cost of the item.

Bonus Points

If you buy an item at a higher cost than what the app expected, you will receive bonus points. You can also get bonus points for receipt scans and for special offer purchases that app has.

Special offer points are awarded for completing listed offers within the app. Some of the points are determinized by percentage. According to Fetch Rewards, points are awarded based on the price paid on the item. For an offer that states earn 20% back if the price for the qualifying item(s) is $20, that equals 20,000 points (multiply the price paid for that item by 1,000). Then, 20% of 20,000 is 4,000 points (20,000 * 0.2) meaning that’s how many bonus points you can expect to receive.

Referral Program

After you scan your first receipt, you will be eligible to join the referral program.

Go to the “Me” section of the app, then select “Referral Code”. That’s where you will find information like how many referral bonuses you’ve gotten.

All bonuses will be awarded to you after your referral has submitted their first receipt. You each will receive 2,000 points for being a part of the referral program.

Redeeming your Rewards

There are seven steps to redeeming your rewards.

  • Step 1: Go to the “Rewards” tab on the bottom of your screen and select the reward you wish to redeem.
  • Step 2: Click the “Get this Reward” option. Make sure you have enough points to afford the reward!
  • Step 3: Enter the 4 digit security code that will be texted to the phone number associated with your account. Then click “Validate”.
  • Step 4: Click on the “Go to my Rewards” button that will now show up.
  • Step 5: Select the reward you redeemed, then tap the “View this Reward” button.
  • Step 6: Follow the instructions to finish activating the reward through the associated vendor/company. The instructions will appear on the screen to help you.
  • Step 7: Once you have done all that, all you have to do is enjoy the reward you got! Congratulations!

Fetch Rewards Rating & Reviews

I scanned 2 receipts today, and they were processed within the hour. Between the referral train that was started, and those, I had enough for a $5 reward. I was incredibly surprised to see that the reward came through INSTANTLY. I’ll definitely keep using this app, said one Reddit reviewer.

I started using Fetch Rewards a while ago, and have been able to rack up about $100 in points, which I’ve cashed in for Amazon gift cards. Who said you couldn’t get paid to drink beer! Super easy, said another Reddit reviewer.

I’ve made $58 in amazon cards since August on Fetch. It’s easier than Ibotta because you don’t have to have the item on hand to scan as proof. Your initial receipts will be bigger points and as you scan more, the points drop drastically. From 100s to 25 or 50. Referrals count for a lot, so market your code. Also if they have a promo for V8 let’s say, and you purchase one and scan the receipt, but you need three to make the promo, Fetch keeps track for you. So if you have someone that also buys this product or find a receipt or something, you can scan it and it remembers you already had one. You only get 14 receipts a week, so be choosy about which ones will have the best payouts, said one Reddit reviewer.

On the Apple App Store, Fetch Rewards has 104 thousand ratings, which average out to be 4.7 stars out of 5. On Google Play, they have over 21 thousand ratings which average to be a little over four stars out of five.

Overall, the majority of the users of the app seem to love using it, especially with other apps such as Ibotta or Checkout 51.

Final Thoughts

In the end, there really is no harm in trying out this app. It takes only a few seconds to use after every shopping trip, and the savings you can get from it are very much worth it.

Plus, if you get a few referrals from family and friends, those extra couple 2k points can end up getting you a lot of spare cash quickly.

We hope that this Fetch Rewards app review has helped you decide on whether or not you’d like to try it out.
