Many people assume that the Bible doesn’t teach about prosperity, or that money itself is evil. In fact, that idea comes from a misquoted scripture.
The Bible says that the love of money is the root of all evil—not money itself. Problems arise when money becomes an idol and we place our trust in it instead of in God.
The truth is that many faithful men and women in the Bible experienced prosperity as a result of God’s favor. For example, Abraham is described as being very wealthy in livestock, silver, and gold (Genesis 13:2). Isaac and his son Jacob were also blessed with prosperity.
You may also know the story of Joseph, the son of Jacob, who, despite enduring a season of hardship, rose to become one of the highest-ranking officials in Egypt—second only to Pharaoh.
But the question is how did these men become prosperous? What did they do to gain favor from God. These bible verses will help throw some light on Biblical wealth that is sustainable.

Joseph went from being in prison to being elevated second in rank to Pharoah, in just one day. This is one of the most motivating stories on the bible for anyone who desperately praying to God for a breakthrough. Genesis 41:38-44,
And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find a man like this, in whom is the Spirit of God?” Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has shown you all this, there is none so discerning and wise as you are. You shall be over my house, and all my people shall order themselves as you command. Only as regards the throne will I be greater than you.” And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.” Then Pharaoh took his signet ring from his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand, and clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain about his neck. And he made him ride in his second chariot. And they called out before him, “Bow the knee!” Thus he set him over all the land of Egypt. Moreover, Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, and without your consent no one shall lift up hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.”

Final Words:
In conclusion, biblical teachings on finances consistently emphasize that money is not an end in itself, but a tool that reflects the condition of the heart.
Scripture encourages wise stewardship, generosity, contentment, and trust in God rather than in wealth. Verses throughout the Bible remind believers to avoid the love of money, to give freely, and to manage resources with integrity and responsibility.
Ultimately, financial decisions are portrayed as spiritual decisions—opportunities to honor God, serve others, and demonstrate faith. By aligning financial practices with these principles, we can cultivate a life marked not by material accumulation, but by purpose, balance, and lasting fulfillment.
