Adam Sandler Referred to as Nantucket Police After Taylor Swift’s Marriage ceremony for the Most Adam Sandler Motive

Adam Sandler went from officiating Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding at Madison Square Garden to making a very different kind of phone call on Nantucket.

Entertainment Weekly reported that Sandler called the Nantucket Police Department less than 48 hours after the July 3 wedding, but not because of an emergency.

The actor was looking for a local basketball court where he could join a pickup game.

The news came from public safety dispatcher Chris Reynolds, who told the Nantucket Current that Sandler called because he was on the island and wanted to play basketball.

According to Reynolds, Sandler asked where he could find a court. Reynolds directed him to the Backus Lane court off Surfside Road, where a group was already playing.

Once he arrived, Sandler did not just watch from the side. Andrew Kesler told the Nantucket Current that Sandler pulled up, stretched and jumped into the game with the group.

Basketball Has Become Part of Sandler’s Public Persona

Sandler has a long public habit of playing pickup basketball wherever he is, and Boston.com reported that he also played at a public court in New York City before officiating the wedding.

Kesler told Boston.com that Sandler was friendly with the other players and posed for photos after the game. He also described Sandler as a strong passer, saying his passing was “elite.”

His Connection to the Couple

Sandler’s connection to Swift and Kelce had been visible before the ceremony. Kelce appeared in Happy Gilmore 2, and Sandler has spoken warmly about both him and Swift in interviews.

PEOPLE reported that Sandler has said Swift’s music means a lot to his daughters, Sunny and Sadie, and that he gets nervous around Swift because he does not want to “blow it” for them.

He has also praised Kelce as funny, kind and easy to be around.
