D4vd’s Buddy Neo Arrested After Failing To Seem as a Witness

The walls are closing in on the inner circle of breakout indie pop star D4vd. In a dramatic development on Thursday, January 22, 2026, law enforcement in Helena, Montana, arrested 23-year-old social media personality Neo Langston, widely known as NeoTheAsian, on an outstanding warrant from California. Langston, who is a close friend and frequent collaborator of D4vd (real name David Anthony Burke), was reportedly nabbed for failing to appear as a witness in the high-stakes grand jury investigation into the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas.

The Lewis and Clark County Jail confirmed the arrest, and Langston was booked at 5:56 p.m. without bond. He is currently in the process of being extradited to Los Angeles County to face a judge for his alleged uncooperative behavior in a case that has gripped the music industry since late 2025.

Neo Langston’s arrest was not just a routine traffic stop. Helena police confirmed they were assisting the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division, which is the same elite team leading the investigation into Burke to locate the streamer.

Witnesses at the scene in Montana reportedly saw Langston taken into custody by seven officers on Knight Street. Photographs posted online showed the streamer being handcuffed on the steps of a residence, wearing a grey hoodie and brown beanie. For fans who followed Neo on Twitch and saw him in various vlogs with D4vd, the booking is a jarring contrast to his energetic online persona.

While law enforcement has not explicitly stated what Langston was meant to testify about, sources close to the grand jury suggest he is a material witness who may have information regarding Burke’s whereabouts or the timeline of Celeste Rivas’ disappearance.

The investigation centers on the tragic discovery made on September 8, 2025, when a foul odor led tow lot employees in Hollywood to the front trunk of an impounded Tesla registered to David Anthony Burke. Inside, they found the remains of Celeste Rivas, who was a teenager from Lake Elsinore who had been missing since April 2024.

Burke, who is 20, has not been charged with a crime relating to the discovery, but he remains a lead suspect. The case has been complicated by revelations of a “Shhh” tattoo on the victim’s index finger that matches one on Burke’s own hand, as well as reports from the teen’s brother that she was last seen going to a movie with Burke before she vanished.

Grand Jury Tensions Boil Over

The arrest of Langston follows weeks of rumors regarding uncooperative witnesses within D4vd’s camp. In December 2025, reports surfaced regarding a grand jury standoff involving Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman and attorney Evan Jenness.

Jenness represents both Langston and Robert Morgenroth, who is the head of D4vd’s touring company. Silverman had previously questioned Morgenroth for days, with sources noting the prosecutor was very pushy as to why he did not call the police earlier. It appears Langston’s refusal to appear led the court to issue the out-of-jurisdiction warrant.

With Neo Langston in custody, the legal pressure on Burke is reaching a boiling point. Legal analysts suggest that a no-show witness usually indicates fear of retaliation or an attempt to protect the suspect. By forcing Langston to testify through a felony failure to appear warrant, prosecutors hope to break the silence that has characterized Burke’s inner circle for months.

Burke’s legal team has maintained his innocence and previously stated that the singer is fully cooperating. However, LAPD sources have suggested that a murder indictment could be handed down against the artist in the near future.

As of Friday afternoon, Langston’s trek south had reportedly begun immediately following a morning appearance before a judge in Montana. Once he arrives in Los Angeles, he will likely be brought directly before the grand jury or held until he agrees to cooperate with the District Attorney’s office.

For the family of Celeste Rivas, the arrest is another step toward answers. Burke’s remaining tour dates were canceled last year as investigators continue to analyze electronic materials seized from a Hollywood Hills property he previously occupied.
