S Legit Ways to Get Free Toothbrushes!

says that we should change our toothbrushes every three to four months. So that’s like 3 to 4 toothbrushes we’ve got to buy every year. Over the years, that starts to add up, and while it’s not a lot of money to spend, I think there are more interesting things to spend cash on than my toothbrush!

If you feel the same way, or perhaps you’re just trying to cut costs overall like many of us are nowadays, then you’ll definitely want to know how to get free toothbrushes.

In today’s post, I’ll cover some tips and tricks you can use to get your toothbrush for free. Now, I recently did a post on how to get free toothpaste, which you can check out here. That should help you lower the cost of your overall oral care.

I’ve got to say that I’ve always found it easier to find free toothpaste samples than I have toothbrush samples. So, there aren’t as many programs dedicated to giving out toothbrushes. That doesn’t mean you can’t get them. It just requires you to try out a few different options.

How to Get Toothbrushes for Free

Now that’s out of the way, let’s look at some super easy ways you can find yourself a free toothbrush.

1. Ask your dentist

Okay, my first tip is a really simple one, and it’s to just ask your dentist if they have any toothbrushes they can give to you for free. I mentioned this tip in my toothpaste post as well.

You may not even have to really ask for it. Some dentists’ offices actually give out a bag containing a toothbrush, toothpaste and even dental floss. But if your dentist doesn’t, just politely ask for it.

I asked my dentist for some samples, and he gave me some Sensodyne toothpaste. It’s not just toothpaste that dentists give away for free either. They give away lots of different products including toothbrushes. So next time you find yourself in the dentist’s chair, ask them if they have any free toothbrush samples that they would be willing to give to you because they often do!

2. Follow toothpaste brands on social media

Okay, my next tip is another simple one and it can yield some great results. Lots of toothpaste brands like Colgate and Oral-B have social media platforms where they post details of all sorts of great deals, including, you guessed it, freebies.

Whether it’s coupon codes for free products, contests, or giveaways, brands who make toothbrushes will often post deals to their social media. So I would highly recommend that you follow your favorite toothbrush brands on social media

That way, you can stay up to date with freebie offers and other awesome money-saving deals.

Here are some links to get you started:

3. Contact companies directly

Another really easy (see the pattern here?) thing that you can do is just contact companies directly.

There are many companies that send you free stuff by mail upon request.

Get in touch with brands like Colgate and Sensodyne and ask them if they’d be willing to mail out a toothbrush for you to try.

The thing is that most brands want to bring in new customers. Even if a brand has to give something away for free, as long as it makes future sales and brings in new customers, it will do. And you can take advantage of this need for sales and new customers by contacting brands and asking them for samples.

Now, don’t go and simply demand freebies. That just won’t work. Instead, take the time to compliment the brand on their products, and let them know that you’d love to try more of its products. Don’t just copy and paste the same request to brands. Sure you can use a template (that’s actually a great way to do it), but just make sure that you tailor it to each brand that you contact.

Most brands have a contact page on their site that you can use to get in touch.

Here are some examples to get you started:

  • Request toothbrush samples from Colgate
  • Request toothbrush samples from Sensodyne
  • Request toothbrush samples from Oral-B
  • Request toothbrush samples from Philips

If you ask politely, then you may be able to get a free toothbrush sent to you in the mail!

By the way, the list above isn’t it. There are many other top brands that manufacture dental health products.

These include:

  • Parodontax
  • CloseUp
  • Arm and Hammer
  • Aquafresh
  • Crest

Simply visit their website and then click on the “contact” page and send them an email. It won’t hurt to ask!

4. Free toothpaste samples for students

If you’re an educator, you could apply for the Colgate Bright Smiles Bright Futures program. You’ll receive a Colgate kit for your students that includes toothpaste and toothbrushes.

It’s important to note that the program isn’t always open for new applicants. But it’s certainly worth checking back every now and then to see. To sign up, you will need to use an official school email address.

  • You can apply for the Colgate Bright Smiles Bright Futures program here.

5. Be a product tester

Some companies that make toothbrushes allow you to become a product tester.

Philips for example has a product testing program that you can check out here. Since Philips makes lots of different products, there’s no guarantee that the product you get to try out will actually be a toothbrush. However, it’s a great starting point.

Another one to try is Product Testing Group, which you can sign up for here. You can get products from Amazon for free or hugely discounted. There are so many products you can test out across multiple categories, and this could include a free toothbrush or other dental care and hygiene products like toothpaste.

6. Sign up to get free sample boxes in the mail

Another tip I have that works great for getting free dental stuff is to sign up for freebie boxes. There are a few sites out there that’ll mail boxes of free stuff right to your doorstep. While the products you’ll receive do vary from box to box, you could get products from brands like Colgate and Oral-B.

You may have to provide your feedback on these products, but, hey, you’re getting free stuff, so it’s hardly a huge deal.

There are lots of sites out there that claim to offer freebies. Not all of them are great though. So do we wary of scams. Make sure you’re not giving out any sensitive data like your credit card information or SSN. You know, just use your common sense.

Now, I have some legit sites for getting freebies, which are:

7. Look out for deals and promos in-store and online

The next tip I have is one that I’ve actually used to get toothbrushes for free and it’s another really easy one. Look out for deals and promos in-store and online.

This could include:

  • Buy one get one free: I’ve seen deals particularly at the drugstore or grocery store where I can buy one toothbrush and get the other one for free. So I’m getting two for the price of one!
  • A free toothbrush with a toothpaste purchase: I’ve previously gotten a free toothbrush included with the toothpaste I planned to buy anyway. I love those deals!
  • A free gift with purchase: I’ve also seen deals where you get like a $5 coupon when you spend $40. You’ve likely seen those deals yourself or some variant of that type of thing. Sometimes it’s save 10% when you spend $50. So keep an eye out for any type of deal or promo where you can get money off or something for free!

So, just how do you keep up to date with these types of promos from stores like CVS, Walmart, and anywhere else toothbrushes are sold?

Well, here are a few simple tricks:

  • Follow stores on social media.
  • Sign up for store newsletters/ email lists.
  • Make sure you view the weekly ad (Flipp is a great app for keeping up to date with store ads and other sales and promos).

Smile, it’s Free!

Although spending money on a toothbrush isn’t the most exciting thing in the world, we all need ’em! And if you can get free toothbrushes, why pay for ’em!?
