If you’re looking for online dollar stores that ship to your home, the main options in 2026 are Dollar Tree, Five Below, DollarDays, Shop Miss A and Dollar King.
The catch? On a small order, shipping can cost more than what’s in your cart.
On September 22 and 23, 2026, I ran the same list of eight school supplies through each store’s checkout. Dollar Tree charged $65.96 just to ship it, and Five Below charged $7.95 on a $12 order.
Online dollar stores at a glance:
- For big orders: Dollar Tree. Online, everything comes by the case, but some cases hold only 3 to 6 items. Free ship-to-store pickup gets you out of the shipping charge.
- For one or two items: Five Below, with free in-store pickup. Shipping was $7.95 on my small orders.
- For beauty: Shop Miss A. Shipping drops to $1 once your cart reaches $35.
- For bulk supplies: DollarDays, built for schools and nonprofits.
- Same-day delivery only: Dollar General and Family Dollar don’t ship online orders, but they deliver from local stores. Hollar and 99 Cents Only are closed.
- Golden rule: Pick free store pickup whenever you can. It can save you from paying a shipping charge on a small order.
But online dollar stores don’t work like the store down the street. Some sell only by the case, some charge a flat shipping fee that’s bigger than a small order, and two of the biggest names don’t ship at all anymore.
That doesn’t make them a bad deal. For the right order, like stocking a classroom with cheap school supplies, throwing a big party or buying a $35 makeup haul, they can save you real money.
The key is matching the store to the order, and the cart test below shows which store fits which kind of order.
What the Same School Supply List Cost at Online Dollar Stores
To see what online dollar stores really cost, I put the same eight school supplies in each store’s cart:
- #2 pencils
- blue ballpoint pens
- glue sticks
- 24-count crayons
- washable markers
- a 70-sheet spiral notebook
- 2-pocket folders
- clear tape
Then I took each cart to checkout with my home address near St. Louis.
Here’s what each one came to, with sales tax included:

Shop Miss A isn’t in the table because it sells beauty products, not school supplies. Dollar General and Family Dollar aren’t in it either, because they don’t ship to your home. Dollar King got the one-item test below instead.
Here’s how I ran the cart price test:
- Closest plain match: I picked the cheapest plain version of each item, not a certain brand.
- Smallest case: At Dollar Tree and DollarDays, I picked the smallest case the site would let me buy.
- Different amounts: Each store’s case sizes and shipping limits changed how much of each item ended up in the cart.
Now, this test doesn’t mean Dollar Tree is expensive. It means Dollar Tree’s website is built for big orders, not for one family’s back-to-school shopping list.
If you really do need a lot, bigger cases get cheaper per piece:
- Crayons: A case of 48 boxes of 24-count Crayola crayons costs $60.00. That’s 1,152 crayons.
- Pencils: A 48-pack case of Jot 24-count pencils works out to about 5 cents a pencil. That’s half the per-pencil price of the smaller case in my cart.
Online Dollar Stores That Ship to Your Home in 2026
Six dollar stores currently ship online orders to your door: Dollar Tree, Five Below, DollarDays, Shop Miss A, Dollar King and the new Everything $1 Store.
Only three let you buy a single item, and none offer free shipping on small orders.
Which online dollar store makes sense depends on what you’re buying.
As you can see in this comparison table, each has different order minimums, shipping costs and pickup options:

Here’s what I found when I checked each store, including what you can buy, how shipping works and where the biggest catches are.
1. Dollar Tree
- Ships to: The 48 connected states. No PO boxes or military addresses.
Dollar Tree is one of the best-known dollar stores, and its base price is $1.25. Online, though, it works more like a wholesale supplier than a store.
- Best for: Classrooms, parties, churches and events that need a lot of the same item
- Prices: $1.25 base price, with some items at $3, $5 and other prices
- Minimum order: One case of each item. Cases held 3 to 75 items in my searches, and most held 12 to 24
- Shipping: Based on weight and number of boxes. $65.96 on my test cart
- Free option: Ship to your local Dollar Tree store
- Returns: All online sales are final
Does Dollar Tree sell single items online?
No. Dollar Tree sells online by the case. On September 24, 2026, I checked about 580 items on DollarTree.com, from candy and party supplies to cleaning, storage and toys. Every one showed “Minimum You Can Buy,” and the smallest amount was always one case.
The product pages explain why: “Many items are shipped in cases that cannot be divided up.”
Some cases are small, though. A few toys came in cases of 3 or 4, and plenty of home items came in cases of 6. Most cases held 12 to 24.
When I typed 1 into the quantity box for Crayola crayons, a box popped up that only offered 48, 96, 144, 192 or 240.
Even the site’s own menu tells you who it’s for. The crayon page sits under “Education & Nonprofits.”
If you need something in bulk that isn’t on the website, Dollar Tree lets you order it by phone with the item’s UPC or SKU.
How much does Dollar Tree charge to ship to your home?
Dollar Tree doesn’t post a set shipping price. It says the fee depends on weight, size, number of boxes, which warehouse it ships from and your address.
Here’s what my eight-case school cart showed at checkout:
- Ground shipping: $65.96, about 26% on top of the $253.50 in items
- Delivery time: Usually 7 to 10 days
- Faster shipping: $131.92
Dollar Tree ship-to-store is free, but slow
The better way to buy from Dollar Tree online is free ship-to-store. You can send your order to any Dollar Tree in the country at no charge.
Before you count on it, know these limits:
- Not every store or item: Dollar Tree says ship-to-store isn’t available at every store or for every product.
- Out-of-stock items ship home: If the warehouse that serves your store is out of an item, that item has to ship to your house instead.
- It takes a while: Dollar Tree’s own shipping page says store orders take 4 to 6 business days in one spot and 7 to 10 in another. My cart’s pickup date was 13 days out.
So if you need party supplies this weekend, it won’t work. For a school year or an event a month away, it’s the cheapest way I found to get Dollar Tree prices in bulk.
Dollar Tree same-day delivery through Instacart
If you need something today, Dollar Tree also delivers same-day through Instacart from more than 8,400 stores. Just know that Dollar Tree’s same-day terms say those prices can be different from what’s on the shelf.
Can you return a Dollar Tree online order?
No. Dollar Tree says all sales are final for orders placed on DollarTree.com. Checkout also warns that you can’t cancel or change an order once it’s placed.
If an order arrives damaged or missing something, Dollar Tree asks you to call 1-877-530-8733.
2. Five Below
- Ships to: The 48 connected states. No military addresses.
Five Below is a discount store where most things cost $1 to $5, plus a “Five Beyond” section for items over $5. It’s one of the easiest big-name stores for buying just one or two things online.
- Best for: Small orders you can pick up in store
- Prices: Most items $1 to $5
- What it sells: Style, room decor, sports, tech, crafts, party supplies and candy
- Minimum order: None, but every item has a per-customer limit
- Shipping: $7.95 flat on both of my test carts
- Free option: In-store pickup, often ready the same day
- Returns: 90 days, in store or by mail, but shipping isn’t refunded
How much is Five Below shipping?
Five Below’s help center doesn’t list a shipping price. It just tells you to check at checkout.
Shipping was $7.95 on both of my test carts. On the $12 cart of school supplies, that’s 66% of the item cost.
Standard shipping takes 5 to 7 business days, and sometimes up to 10.
Some Five Below items can’t be shipped at all
When I searched the eight school supplies, I ran into three problems:
- Pickup only: The pencils, glue sticks and notebook said “Shipping: Currently Unavailable.”
- No plain versions: I couldn’t find plain yellow #2 pencils or a plain pack of blue pens. Five Below had character pencils and 8-packs of Paper Mate InkJoy pens instead.
- Purchase limits: The folder I picked was limited to one per customer per order, and the glue sticks were limited to three.
Five Below pickup and same-day delivery
Free in-store pickup is the smart way to shop Five Below online. Five Below says most pickup orders are ready the same day.
If you can’t get to the store, Five Below also delivers through Instacart in as little as 2 hours and DoorDash in as little as 30 minutes. Neither one lists its delivery fees on Five Below’s site.
3. DollarDays
- Ships to: DollarDays’ shipping policy says the 48 connected states and DC, with faster shipping only to Alaska and Hawaii. No PO boxes.
DollarDays is a bulk supplier aimed at schools, nonprofits and charities. You don’t need a membership, just a free account, but almost everything is sold by the case.
- Best for: Schools, churches, shelters, big events and anyone who needs cheap household items online in bulk
- What it sells: 15 categories, including personal care, school and office, food, home and disaster relief, plus a “Bulk Hygiene Under $1” section
- Minimum order: None, but most items come by the case
- Shipping: Based on size and weight. $151.37 on my test cart
- Free shipping: On eligible items over $599
- Returns: 14 days, unopened cases only, with a 20% restocking fee
What DollarDays shipping really costs
My eight cases of school supplies came to $507.24, and shipping added $151.37. That’s about 30% on top.
A few things about DollarDays checkout can surprise you:
- Shipping shows up late: The cart says “TBD” for shipping and tax until you reach the shipping step.
- Freight trucks for big orders: DollarDays ships by UPS, FedEx or “other LTL carriers,” which are freight trucks. That’s why checkout asks whether you’re shipping to a business with a loading dock.
- Free shipping has gaps: The notebook case in my cart was marked “Not eligible for free shipping.”
- Fast to ship out: DollarDays says most orders ship in 1 to 2 business days.
DollarDays “as low as” prices are for huge orders
Search results show “as low as” prices, but you only get those at big amounts. The notebook’s $0.86 price needed 2,816 cases or more, and at one case it was $1.00.
Also, two of the cheaper cases I wanted were sold out, and the site gave no warning. Clicking “Add to Cart” just did nothing.
4. Shop Miss A
- Ships to: The 48 connected states for the $1 shipping rate.
Shop Miss A is an online beauty store, and its own brands AOA Studio and a2o Lab make up a lot of what it sells.
It’s known as the $1 makeup store, but not everything is $1 anymore. When I checked the store’s full product list on September 23, 903 of its 3,257 products were $1.00. Most of the rest were $1.33 to $1.88.
- Best for: Beauty hauls of $35 or more
- What it sells: Makeup, skin care, hair, nails, jewelry, accessories and self care
- Prices: Many items $1.00, most others $1.33 to $1.88
- Minimum order: None
- Shipping: $3.95 under $35 at my checkout (the shipping page says $4.95), and $1.00 at $35 and up
- Delivery time: 2 to 3 days to pack, then 7 to 10 business days
- Returns: 5 business days, store credit only, and cosmetics are final sale
Shop Miss A shipping drops to $1 at $35
The $1 makeup sponge from my one-item test cost almost four times its price just to ship. So I put 35 of the same sponge in the cart. Shipping dropped to $1.00, for a total of $37.52.
So Shop Miss A works best when you save up a list and order once. If $35 is more than you want to spend, compare it with these makeup sites with free shipping first.
A few more shipping details:
- Faster shipping: $12.95, or $19.95 for UPS 2-day.
- Shipping protection: An extra box you can tick at checkout. It isn’t added for you.
5. Dollar King
- Ships to: US addresses only. Alaska and Hawaii can take longer and cost more.
Dollar King is one of the few sites like Five Below that sells single items. It’s a smaller online dollar store based in Vernon, California, with 24 or more departments, including crafts, beauty, cleaning, party supplies, snacks and stationery.
- Best for: Mixed orders from lots of departments
- Prices: $1.99 for the items I saw
- Minimum order: None
- Shipping: $9.99 flat at checkout
- Discount: 10% off your first order when you sign up with your email
- Returns: 30 days, but its two policy pages disagree on fees
Dollar King shipping was $9.99 flat at checkout
The glue sticks from my one-item test cost $9.99 to ship.
The shipping stayed at $9.99 as I added more:
- 30 packs: $72.64 total
- 100 packs: $217.83 total, or about 10 cents of shipping per pack
I didn’t find a free-shipping line on carts up to $199. So the more you buy, the less the shipping matters.
There are two more things to know before you order. You only see the shipping price after you fill in your full name, address and phone number. And Dollar King’s terms say the checkout shipping price is only an estimate, with the real cost sent by email.
Dollar King’s return rules don’t match
Dollar King’s two pages give different return rules:
- Return policy page: 30 days for unused items, and you pay the return shipping. No fee is mentioned.
- Terms page: 30 days too, but with a 15% restocking fee and a return number you have to get first.
If you think you might return something, email Dollar King before you order and ask which rule applies.
6. Everything $1 Store
- Ships to: The US and Canada. Alaska, Hawaii and US territories cost more, based on the carrier and the weight.
If you want a store where every item really is $1, the Everything $1 Store is the only one I found. It’s brand new. Its products went up in late September 2026, and it’s run by Dollar Fanatic LLC, the company behind the Dollar Fanatic mystery boxes.
When I checked on September 24, 2026, it had 92 products, all $1.00. The site says it carries “at least 100 products at a time,” so expect the list to change often.
- Best for: A $50 order of household, beauty and craft basics
- Prices: $1.00 for every item
- What it sells: A changing mix of beauty items, school and craft supplies, household goods and small hardware
- Minimum order: $10
- Shipping: $9.95 flat for up to 49 items, and free at $50 and up
- Returns: 7 days after delivery, for new and unopened items only. Clearance items can’t be returned
So the smallest order you can place is $10 of items plus $9.95 shipping, or $19.95 before tax. I’d wait until my list reached $50, because that’s where shipping drops to zero. The site calls free shipping a “promotion,” so check your cart before you pay.
Dollar General and Family Dollar: Same-Day Delivery Only
Dollar General and Family Dollar are two of the biggest dollar store chains, but neither one ships online orders to your home right now. What you can get is same-day delivery from a store near you.
For food and everyday basics, that’s often better than shipping anyway, because you get your order the same day.
7. Dollar General delivery
Dollar General’s help center says “Shipping is no longer available for online orders.”
Its terms page still says it ships to all 50 states, and its website still shows a Shipping option. But when I switched to shipping on September 24, 2026, my searches for glue sticks, shampoo and paper towels came up empty.
DG Pickup is gone too.
- Best for: Groceries and household basics you need today
- How to order: myDG Delivery on Dollar General’s website or app, DoorDash or Uber Eats
- myDG Delivery cost: Delivery is free, and getting it in under an hour costs a $1 ASAP fee
- Who can get it: People who live within 5 miles of a Dollar General store
- SNAP: Works on DoorDash, but not on myDG Delivery
- Coupons: Digital coupons work on myDG Delivery orders, but paper coupons and DG Cash don’t
- Returns: Online orders can’t be returned at Dollar General stores
Instacart is coming too. Dollar General announced an Instacart partnership on September 23, 2026.
It starts in about 7,000 stores in six states in the coming weeks, and Dollar General plans to grow it to about 20,000 stores this fall.
8. Family Dollar delivery
Family Dollar works the same way. Dollar Tree sold Family Dollar in July 2025, and its website now shows products as “Shop in-store” with no cart.
If you pay with SNAP, the USDA says online SNAP works in all 50 states and DC. DoorDash also takes it at more than 1,000 Dollar Tree stores. You can’t use SNAP to pay delivery fees, though.
Online Dollar Stores vs Walmart, Amazon and Temu
For a small order, Walmart and Amazon can beat online dollar stores. Here’s what the same eight-item school list cost at each place:

Here’s what the Walmart, Amazon and Temu carts showed:
- Walmart: The cart added a $6.99 “Below $35 order minimum fee,” even when I picked free pickup. The glue sticks and tape were pickup only.
- Amazon: My prices came from my Prime account. Without Prime, Amazon’s free shipping page only says you need to reach “the stated minimum threshold.” CNBC reported in 2023 that some shoppers without Prime were asked for $35 and others $25, so check your own cart.
- Temu: Its cart shows a $25 minimum before you can check out. School supplies mostly come in multi-packs, like two boxes of crayons for $12.50.
For a short list, walking into a Dollar Tree is still the cheapest option, especially if you know how to save money at Dollar Tree. If you’d rather not drive, Walmart and Amazon carried all eight items.
Oriental Trading for cheap party supplies
If it’s party supplies you’re after, there’s one more store outside the dollar store world that I’d look at.
Oriental Trading sells party supplies, crafts, toys and classroom supplies in small packs, like 12 cellophane treat bags for $1.98.
Here’s how Oriental Trading shipping works:
- Shipping: Starts at $6.99 for orders up to $25 and goes up with your total
- Where it ships: Alaska, Hawaii, military addresses and PO boxes (for an extra charge). Dollar Tree ships to neither of the last two, Five Below doesn’t ship to military addresses, and DollarDays doesn’t ship to PO boxes
Can You Buy Just One Item From an Online Dollar Store?
Yes, three of the six online dollar stores that still ship will sell you just one item, but the shipping usually costs more than the item. Dollar Tree won’t sell you just one at all, DollarDays sells almost everything by the case, and the Everything $1 Store needs a $10 order.
To test it, I priced one cheap item at four stores and took three of them through checkout:
- Five Below phone cable: $7.00 for the cable, $7.95 for shipping and 82 cents tax, for a total of $15.77.
- Shop Miss A makeup sponge: $1.00 for the sponge, $3.95 for shipping and 21 cents tax, for a total of $5.16.
- Dollar King glue sticks: $1.99 for the glue, $9.99 for shipping and 51 cents tax, for a total of $12.49.
- Dollar Tree balloons: Latex balloon packs started at $1.25, but each one was sold 24 packs at a time. So the smallest order was $30.00 before shipping.
The one real fix is free pickup. That same Five Below cable was free to pick up at my local store, ready in about 6 hours.
Wholesale Sites to Buy Dollar Items in Bulk Online
If you’re buying for a school, church, nonprofit, event or resale business, these wholesale sites let you buy dollar items in bulk online at wholesale prices.
Everything comes by the case, so these aren’t a fit for a normal household order.
9. H&J Closeouts
H&J Closeouts sells closeout and wholesale goods, like party, office, toys, health and beauty, housewares and seasonal items.
- Prices: Most cases on its homepage were $72 to $135, like 144 pencil grips for $93.60
- Shipping: Free on orders over $50 in the 48 connected states
- Who can buy: Anyone. You don’t need an account or a reseller license
- Returns: 25% restocking fee, and you pay the return shipping
10. Dollaritem.com
Dollaritem.com sells cases and boxes in 16 categories, from school supplies and party goods to pet and hardware items.
- Prices: Cases start at $2.64
- Shipping: Not posted on the site. At checkout, it was $30.00 on a $47.52 cart and free on a $52.80 cart
- Returns: 14 days on unopened items, with a 20% restocking fee
11. Dollar Item Direct
Dollar Item Direct sells general goods and seasonal items by the case, to the public and to resellers.
- Prices: School supplies run $0.78 to $3.20 per unit, like a 10-pack of stick pens for $1.10
- Shipping: $19.95 on orders under $100, and about 15% of your order above that
How to Save Money at Online Dollar Stores
The sticker price isn’t always the price you actually pay online.
These three habits can help you avoid overpaying. They’re also good rules for saving money when you shop online anywhere else:
- Check the price per piece before you buy: A $1.25 pack isn’t a deal if a larger pack costs less per item elsewhere. For example, Walmart had 24 Cra-Z-Art crayons for $0.86 in my comparison. Also check the shipping and case size, since a low item price can be wiped out by a large shipping charge or bulk minimum.
- Check for cashback before you check out: Dollar Tree pays 2% through Rakuten and TopCashback. DollarDays pays 3% through TopCashback, and Oriental Trading pays 2% through Rakuten, although bulk orders are excluded. I didn’t find Five Below or Shop Miss A on either one when I checked, so search a few other cash back sites for them.
- Treat coupons as a bonus, not a guarantee: Dollar Tree doesn’t accept coupons online, and Family Dollar doesn’t accept Smart Coupons online. Five Below sometimes sends promo codes by email, while Dollar General’s digital coupons work on myDG Delivery orders. Check the current rules before building a purchase around a coupon.
Online Dollar Stores That Closed or Don’t Sell Online
Some dollar stores are gone for good, and others never sold online at all:
- Hollar: The old online dollar store shut down in February 2020.
- 99 Cents Only: Closed all its stores in 2024.
- Dollar Plus Store and Geek: Dollar Plus’s web address is for sale, and Geek now sends you to Wish.
- DollarStore.com and ClothingUnder10: Both now send you to unrelated sites. DollarStore.com opens a “security check” page that asks you to download software, so don’t.
- Dollar Fanatic: Still open, but it now sells only mystery boxes of 100 to 300 items, starting at $79.99. Its owner now runs the Everything $1 Store, covered above.
Ollie’s, Big Lots and Popshelf: These are discount stores like Dirt Cheap, not dollar stores, but a lot of shoppers go to them for the same cheap everyday items. None of them sell online. Ollie’s says so in its FAQ. Popshelf is on DoorDash, and Dollar General says it’s adding Popshelf to Instacart this fall.
If you’re looking for online dollar stores like Wish, Wish is still around, but it’s a marketplace, not a dollar store, and so are most apps like Wish. DHgate, Rosegal and ROMWE aren’t dollar stores either.

Are online prices the same as in-store prices?
Not always. Dollar Tree’s website used the same $1.25 unit price as its stores in my test. But Dollar Tree’s same-day delivery terms say prices there can differ from the shelf, and Dollar General charges the price at the time your order is filled.
Can you use SNAP or EBT at online dollar stores?
Not on the store websites I checked. Dollar Tree’s online payment options are cards and PayPal, and Five Below says it can’t take EBT online. DollarDays doesn’t list EBT either, Dollar General’s own delivery service doesn’t take it, and Family Dollar’s website has no cart.
You can use SNAP through delivery apps, though, the same way many grocery stores accept EBT online. DoorDash takes it at more than 16,000 Dollar General stores, nearly 7,000 Family Dollar stores and more than 1,000 Dollar Tree stores. Instacart lists Dollar Tree and Family Dollar as SNAP stores. Do dollar stores deliver the same day?
Yes. Dollar General’s myDG Delivery can arrive in under an hour, and Dollar General has announced Instacart delivery starting this fall. Dollar Tree delivers through Instacart and DoorDash, Five Below through Instacart and DoorDash, and Family Dollar through Instacart, DoorDash and Uber Eats.
Is the dollar store cheaper than Walmart?
In store, yes. My eight school supplies cost $12.00 at Dollar Tree’s shelf prices and $13.82 on Walmart.com, before Walmart’s $6.99 under-$35 fee. For groceries it’s a closer race, and I compare dollar stores with Walmart and ALDI in my post on the cheapest grocery stores.
How I Researched This Topic
I tested the online dollar stores in this guide myself on September 22 and 23, 2026. I put the same eight school supplies in each store’s cart and entered my delivery address near St. Louis at checkout. This let me compare actual shipping charges and final totals rather than relying only on advertised rates.
For Dollar Tree and DollarDays, I used the cheapest plain version available and the smallest case the site allowed. I recorded the item prices, quantities, shipping charges and final totals. I also recorded items that could not be shipped.
On September 24, I checked about 580 items on DollarTree.com to see whether any were available as single items. None were.
For store policies, I used the companies’ own websites first. I also used USDA and DoorDash for SNAP information and the FTC and BBB for safe-shopping information. Amazon prices came from search results, while Walmart prices are shown before tax because its checkout would not show me tax without an account.
When a policy page differed from what I actually saw at checkout, I used the checkout result for the price test. For example, Shop Miss A’s policy listed $4.95 shipping, but checkout charged $3.95, so I reported the $3.95 amount.
Are Online Dollar Stores Worth It?
Yes, but only when the total cost still makes sense after shipping and purchase minimums.
My tests showed how quickly a cheap-looking cart can become expensive online: Dollar Tree’s $12 worth of items became $342.64 after case requirements and shipping.
For small purchases, free pickup or a regular retailer may make more sense. For larger orders, bulk supplies or hard-to-find items, online shopping can still be worthwhile.
So before you check out, compare the total delivered price, not just the item price, to see whether online dollar stores are actually worth it.
