But take heed to \u201cWhere I\u2019ve Been\u201d (a redemptive story of Blige\u2019s not-so-speedy ascent from the \u2018hood, that includes visitor raps from Eve) and the Missy Elliott-assisted \u201cNever Been,\u201d and misgivings vanish. Whereas previous Mary C. efforts have been restricted to tales of relationships gone awry, her outlook is extra numerous and upbeat, whereas her scratchy, bluesy vocals have grow to be extra expansive, too.
