Built in the early 1950s, (see below) these flats would have been a joy to most of their original occupants, who were moved from the Town&#8217;s slum-clearance areas. By and large, communities were kept together &#8211; former neighbours in a demolished Victorian tenement in the old Town would find they often had the same neighbours in the new housing blocks.
