The totality of the face is clean, legible, with an impact that is quite conservative and easy on the eyes, even almost humanist, in spite of the individual standard forms used.

Second typeface in use:

Fulvio Bisca’s elegant, experimental, semi serif typeface »Cutoff Pro«.

Cutoff Pro
The first plain weight of Cutoff was designed in 2005 to be used in Miele, an independent Italian free magazine. The need was for an elegant, unusual and legible semi-serif with contemporary flavour. I was fascinated by the deconstructivist work of Jeff Keedy (Hard Times Thick), Phil Baines (Can You, You Can) and Otl Aicher (Rotis), so my aim was to get the feeling of a cut transitional typeface; at the same time felt the exigence to work on the whole shape of the glyphs, in order to soften the “90s deconstructivist” effect and obtain a more balanced and readable design.
In the last years I further worked on the typeface adding the other styles, extending the character set and refining the letterforms. Finally the precious collaboration with URW++ brought in 2010 to a complete OpenType Pro font family, with multilingual and advanced typographic features.
Fulvio Bisca, July 2010

Posted by arnoKath on 2009-05-13 19:30:07

[shock_spots id=”2726″]

 Tagged: , type , typeface , typo , typography , font , wallpaper , canadatype , socialgothic , social , gothic , colour , color , black , white , typographie , tipografia , glyph , beautiful , typografie , typespecimen , typedesigner , typedesign , specimen , poster , oneletter , logotype , logo , letters , lettering , letterforms , illustration , graphicdesign , graphic , extravagant , experimental , design , colorful , artwork , art , widescreen , striking , patrickgriffin , letter , minimalist , gorgeous , classic , blackwhite , plakativ , vector , vintage , fashionable , voguish , typographicgrid , stylish , racism , sensible , initial , deco , fontsinuse social gothic , fontsinuse cutoff pro , cutoff pro , Fulvio Bisca , type:typeface=Social Gothic , type:typeface=Cutoff Pro

UPDATED: 02.12.2010 Wallpaper 1920×1200 created with Patrick Griffins (Canada Type) revival, repair and expansion of Thomas Hollingworth’s »Informal Gothic«, the fashionable, square »Social Gothic«.
