Treat any single figure, including ours, as a claim rather than a count.

How you actually get a VoxBox

You cannot apply for a VoxBox. Influenster’s help center describes two routes in: you fill in a pre-survey for a campaign, or an invitation arrives “based on information you have already shared”. Either way the answer is now immediate, where members once waited up to two weeks to hear.

Age 16, not 18. Its help center says “legally, you have to be 16 to join”, though individual programs may require 18. Its privacy policy, dated March 2021, still uses 13 — three different ages across three live documents.

21 shipping countries. The US, Canada, Mexico, the UK, Australia and 16 European countries. Anyone 16 or over may join from anywhere, but a box only travels to that list.

One box per household, per program. The Terms call it “a strict policy of sending one VoxBox per household address per program”, so two members at one address cannot both be picked for the same campaign.

A connected Instagram or TikTok is effectively required. The help center is blunt: “if you want to receive frequent invitations to programs, you’ll have to have either one of these platforms connected”. Follower count, it says, “does not impact your eligibility”.

Reviews need 120 characters. That is the only published length rule. It publishes no figure for how long a first VoxBox takes, or what share of members ever receive one.

What Influenster publishes is one thing. What the blogs about it publish is another, and the gap matters if you are trying to work out your odds.

Checked on 13 October 2026 against Influenster’s Terms of Service, its privacy policy and all 122 public articles in its help center, plus Bazaarvoice’s open network page.

Bottom line: the published rules are short, and they are mostly about what you owe Influenster. Nothing in them tells you how likely you are to be picked, because it has never published that.

What a VoxBox is worth, and what it costs you

A box is free and can be generous: a Google Play reviewer of more than ten years put their haul at roughly $5,000, from $1,000 of Dior skincare down to $9 potting soil (September 2026). Waiting is among the commonest complaints in the newest reviews.

The cost is not money. It is the profile you hand over, and Bazaarvoice is unusually open about that, because it is the thing it sells.

All four are Bazaarvoice’s own marketing claims to the brands that buy campaigns, from its sampling page and its open network page, read 13 October 2026. None is independently audited.

Those four numbers are Bazaarvoice telling brands what a sampling campaign buys them: targeting on “up to 1,000 data points per member”, an “85% content completion rate within eight weeks” and a “2x average lift in conversion from reviews”. Your honest opinion is the inventory.

On whether that data is sold, its own documents give three different answers. Influenster’s privacy policy, effective 8 March 2021, answers “Yes” to disclosing identifiers — name, alias, online identifier, IP address, email, account name — “for valuable consideration in the 12 months prior”, and publishes a “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” link.

Its help center says the opposite: that neither company sells data, “so there is no need for a separate ‘Do Not Sell’ request”. Bazaarvoice’s own policy, updated 14 February 2024, denies any sale outright.

Three more clauses are worth reading before you sign up. The Terms cap Influenster’s maximum liability at $100 in all circumstances. They take a “worldwide, exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free” license to your reviews and photos, with no end date, for promotion through any media channel. And they let the company terminate your account “for any reason at any time”.

Bottom line: the product is genuinely free, and the price is a detailed, permanent profile plus a license to your words. Whether that is a good deal depends entirely on how much you would have reviewed anyway.

What happened when people tried it

Nobody here has used Influenster, so what follows is other people’s documented experience, with the month each account was published. The spread is the finding: there is no typical wait.

Every account read on 13 October 2026. Store and Trustpilot reviewers are not named, as they are private individuals; the two bloggers and the forum thread are linked in full.

Two patterns survive the spread. The first is that a box can arrive quickly or never: the shortest documented wait is four days from selection, and the longest documented non-event is a member with 50 photo reviews and no invitation at all.

The second is that being an influencer is no guarantee either. The App Store reviewer above had a reach most members would envy and still saw nothing in two months, which is consistent with Influenster’s own line that follower count “does not impact your eligibility”.

Bottom line: treat the first box as a maybe, not a plan. Anyone quoting you a reliable timeline for a first VoxBox is quoting a number nobody has published.

What 250 of the newest reviews actually say

Lifetime star ratings on an app this old tell you about 2019 as much as about now. So the 100 newest US App Store reviews (5 March to 8 October 2026) and the 150 newest Google Play reviews (13 April to 12 October 2026) were pulled newest-first from each store’s own feed and read one by one.

Our own count. On Google Play, one-star reviews narrowly outnumber five-star ones, 56 to 55. Plenty of people are still delighted, though: 52 of the 100 App Store reviews and 47 of the 150 Play reviews praise products that did arrive.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://www.dollarbreak.com/images/is-influenster-legit-subjects-b7203fb5.png" alt="App bugs and waiting lead the newest App Store complaints (Reviews mentioning each subject, out of the 100 newest US App Store reviews (March to October 2026). One September 2026 two-star review says Craftsman had sent products near-monthly and Influenster has sent none in several months.

The Better Business Bureau file is smaller and sharper. Influenster, Inc. is rated D-, is not accredited, and BBB gives the reason as failure to respond to eight complaints. Read on 13 October 2026, the file showed 11 complaints in three years, eight of them listed, five unanswered.

Almost all of them are about one thing: cashback campaigns, where the member buys the product first and is reimbursed afterwards. One complainant said they paid $121 for a Hershey’s campaign and never got the promised $120 back; others were owed $59.98, $25.70 and $12. A December 2024 complaint says a Serta campaign delivered a twin XL mattress instead of a queen and the assigned representative never replied.

For scale, Trustpilot shows 2.8 out of 5 from 130 reviews, 49% of them one star, on an unclaimed profile — a tiny, self-selected base beside 58,571 App Store ratings. The parent company’s own BBB profile is B- with five complaints, and those are business contract disputes, not member ones.

Bottom line: the serious complaints are not “it is a scam”. They are slow or silent support, an app that breaks, and cashback campaigns where real money went out and came back late or not at all. Never spend your own money on a campaign you cannot afford to lose.

Is a free product for a review even legal?

It is, and the rule that governs it is newer than most articles about Influenster. The FTC’s Rule on the Use of Consumer Reviews and Testimonials took effect on 21 October 2024 on a 5-0 Commission vote. It bans fake and AI-generated reviews, undisclosed insider reviews and the suppression of negative ones.

What it bans about incentives is narrow and precise: compensation “conditioned on the writing of consumer reviews expressing a particular sentiment”. Giving someone a free product for an honest review is not prohibited. Telling them the product is theirs only if they are positive about it is.

That is why disclosure sits on you as well as on the brand. Influenster’s 2020 Terms hand members a sentence to post, naming Influenster and the brand and stating the products came “for free … in exchange for my honest review”. It must sit inside the first 125 characters on Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube, or the first 477 characters on Facebook.

Its 2026 help article is softer, recommending #gifted, #freesample or #freeproduct and warning against burying the disclosure in a hashtag list. Failing to disclose, the Terms say, “will result in suspension from Influenster”.

On the platform side, Bazaarvoice’s Authenticity Policy, last updated 20 January 2023, is stricter than most readers expect. Brands “are prohibited from rejecting content, or causing it to be rejected, solely on the basis of star rating or review sentiment”, may not edit a review, and may not moderate their own content. Sampled reviews carry an “incentivized review” badge, and when one syndicates to a retailer’s site Bazaarvoice appends the line “[This review was collected as part of a promotion.]”

The teeth are real. The FTC can seek civil penalties of up to $53,088 per violation, and on 22 December 2025 it sent warning letters to 10 companies; it did not name them, and the letters are not findings of wrongdoing. The nearest enforcement precedent for a sampling program is the FTC’s 2019 order against UrthBox, which paid $100,000 after offering free snack boxes for positive BBB reviews with no system to check that reviewers disclosed the freebie.

Bottom line: no FTC action, state attorney-general matter or class action naming Influenster or Bazaarvoice over reviews could be found. The one court loss on record is an antitrust case, US v. Bazaarvoice, which has nothing to do with whether reviews are honest.

Better uses of the same hour

Influenster is worth keeping as a background lottery ticket. It is a poor main plan, because the hours are unpaid and the outcome is somebody else’s decision. If you want something you control, run one of these alongside it.

Trustpilot scores read 13 October 2026: PINCHme 4.5 from 1,413 reviews, BzzAgent 3.3 from 16. Bazaarvoice.

The ratings and complaint figures are our own counts, taken on 13 October 2026: the 100 newest US App Store reviews, the 150 newest Google Play reviews, Influenster’s Trustpilot profile and the eight complaints listed on its BBB file. Those are samples, not censuses, and a single review can mention two subjects.

Nobody at DollarBreak has a VoxBox. Everything about what arrives in a box, and how long a wait feels, is credited to the bloggers, forum members and store reviewers who recorded it, with the month they did.

Influenster FAQ

Is Influenster free?

Yes. Its help center says “Influenster is free and always has been”, and shipping is free on programs where it posts you the box. Some cashback campaigns ask you to buy the product first and reimburse you afterwards, which is where most of its BBB complaints come from.

How long does it take to get a VoxBox?

Nobody publishes a figure, and the documented accounts run from four days after selection to months of nothing for members posting regularly. Once you are picked, Influenster says the box takes 4 to 6 weeks to arrive.

How do you sign up for Influenster?

Download the app or register on the site with an email, Apple, Google or Facebook account, complete your profile and start reviewing products you already own. One account per person; a second one will count against you.

Do you need Instagram or TikTok to get products?

Its help center says frequent program invitations require one connected Instagram (Creator or Business) or TikTok account, and that you can connect only one per platform. It also says follower count does not affect eligibility.

What is Influenster Pro?

A separate tier for members with a public social following, where Influenster says your Instagram insights — engagement rate and follower count — are shared with brands. It publishes no price for it, and says the platform as a whole is free.

What does Influenster do with your data?

Bazaarvoice tells brands it can target campaigns on “up to 1,000 data points per member”. Influenster’s privacy policy says it collects protected characteristics and background location, and its own CCPA table says it disclosed identifiers for valuable consideration; its help center and Bazaarvoice’s policy both say nothing is sold. Deleting your account does not delete everything: it “may still retain” your information and your public reviews.

Source link

This Influenster review is built on the company’s own terms and help center, 250 of the newest store reviews read one by one, its Better […]

[4557
40751,38876,40749,40747,431,622,941,40748,40750,173,7890
post-366233","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-marketing","tag-charge-product","tag-lowes","tag-media-channel","tag-on-line-identifier","tag-paypal","tag-pinterest","tag-queen","tag-ratings-and-reviews-software-program","tag-ship-product","tag-united-states","tag-world-health-organization
["GET
