How are you this morning, darling? I\u2019m fine.\u201d Brosnan added that they are usually still waking up with their tea.<\/p>\n<p>Mirren then demonstrated what happens after they leave the trailer by pretending to fire a gun wildly. Brosnan laughed and supplied the summary: \u201cIt\u2019s nuts.\u201d The actors return in Season 2 as the married heads of the Harrigan crime family, whose conversations can move from domestic bickering to violence with very little warning.<\/p>\n<p>Brosnan and Mirren have spent much of the past three years working together across both seasons of <em>MobLand<\/em> and Netflix\u2019s <em>The Thursday Murder Club<\/em>, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/1292556\/mobland-pierce-brosnan-helen-mirren-season-2-interview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TV Insider<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Late Season 2 Scripts Had Them \u2018Shooting From the Hip\u2019<\/h2>\n<p><noscript><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Helen Mirren &amp; Pierce Brosnan interview on Mobland season 2\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3GBZD-9KGrg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey did come in late, which kind of puts you on edge, somewhat, and it really means you have to shoot from the hip,\u201d Brosnan said of the Season 2 scripts. \u201cYou have to make quick decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Having already established Conrad and Maeve during the first season gave both actors something solid to work from. Mirren said the cast initially had little idea what <em>MobLand<\/em> would become, but the show\u2019s particular tone developed as they worked and became even more pronounced when they returned.<\/p>\n<p>Brosnan described the extended experience of playing Conrad as a \u201clong fever dream,\u201d recalling days when he would leave the set asking himself, \u201cWhat did I just do?!\u201d Mirren called the second season \u201can adventure into the unknown\u201d and said the unpredictability was exciting.<\/p>\n<h2>Mirren Says the Cast Gives Her Freedom to \u2018Be Ridiculous\u2019 and Make Mistakes<\/h2>\n<p><noscript><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u2018MobLand\u2019: Helen Mirren &amp; Pierce Brosnan on PEACEFULNESS Working Together (Exclusive)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lHcZlPcDHYM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p>Mirren told PEOPLE that she feels safe working with Brosnan, Tom Hardy and the rest of the ensemble, giving her room to experiment without treating every choice as something that has to work immediately.<\/p>\n<p>She compared the company to a theater troupe and said that atmosphere creates \u201cthe freedom to invent, to be ridiculous, to make mistakes\u201d on set. \u201cYou can only do that when you\u2019re working with people who are giving, generous, and kind of professional and inventive,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Brosnan acknowledged that film sets can sometimes feel lonely despite the number of people involved in a production. Mirren described the <em>MobLand<\/em> cast as a genuine ensemble, while Brosnan has similarly referred to the group as a family.<\/p>\n<h2>Paramount+ Renewed \u2018MobLand\u2019 for Season 3 Before Season 2 Premiered<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.paramountpressexpress.com\/paramount-plus\/shows\/mobland\/releases\/?view=113212-the-harrigans-arent-going-anywhere-mobland-renewed-for-season-three-on-paramount\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paramount+<\/a> renewed <em>MobLand<\/em> for a third season on Sept. 3, two weeks before Season 2 premiered. Tom Hardy will return as Harry Da Souza, with Brosnan and Mirren back as Conrad and Maeve.<\/p>\n<p>The 10-episode second season premiered Sept. 18 and releases new episodes on Fridays.
