A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed down the street from his high school in Houston on Friday morning, authorities said.<\/p>\n

The victim was a senior at Westbury High School, Houston police said at a news conference.<\/p>\n

All other students and staff are safe, police said.<\/p>\n

No arrests have been made, police said, adding, “We’re working diligently to make sure we get someone in custody as soon as possible.”<\/p>\n

The victim\u2019s family is \u201cdevastated,\u201d police said.<\/p>\n

\u201cA grandmother shouldn\u2019t be on the side of the street here, grieving for her child, for her grandchild. The mom is beside herself,\u201d police said.<\/p>\n
