Kat Dennings says one 2 Broke Girls<\/em> scene disappeared before cameras ever rolled because she refused to do it as written. In a TikTok<\/a> shared September 21, she recalled objecting to a script that called for her and Beth Behrs to run around their characters\u2019 apartment in bras.<\/p>\n \u201cYou don\u2019t pay me enough for a bra scene,\u201d she recalled telling showrunner Michael Patrick King. According to Entertainment Weekly<\/a>\u2019s account of the video, that was the remark that ended the disagreement. The scene was removed.<\/p>\n Dennings placed the table read in either the first or second season of the CBS comedy. She played Max Black opposite Behrs\u2019 Caroline Channing, two Brooklyn waitresses trying to save enough money to start a cupcake business.<\/p>\n Although the show was already successful, Dennings said she didn\u2019t feel she had much influence over what she was asked to perform. She remembered being young and grateful for the job, but she still wanted the script changed.<\/p>\n After the table read, Dennings approached King with two options: remove the scene or have Max and Caroline wear clothes during it. In her recollection, King initially resisted changing the material. That was when she brought up her pay.<\/p>\n Looking back, Dennings offered viewers some advice: \u201cNever underestimate yourself.\u201d She also joked that the amount she was earning wasn\u2019t the only obstacle. Even now, she doubted anyone could pay her enough to make the proposed scene worthwhile. EW said it had contacted representatives for King, Warner Bros. Television and CBS for comment.<\/p>\n The comedy had caught on quickly. CBS gave it a full-season order<\/a> on October 5, 2011, just weeks after its September premiere. At the time, TheWrap reported<\/a> that it had the highest average rating among adults 18 to 49 of any new series that fall.
