Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Sunday he had spoken with President Donald Trump, describing the conversation as “important” and saying the two agreed to meet in New York.<\/p>\n

The peace track is our number one priority,” Zelenskyy said.<\/p>\n Zelenskyy added that there are “ideas for de-escalation steps and for addressing fundamental security issues \u2013 energy security, food security, and the protection of human life.”<\/p>\n “We are working together with the American team and are ready to take really serious steps,” Zelenskyy wrote.<\/p>\n Zelenskyy concluded by thanking Trump for signing the Lindsey Graham bill<\/a> into law.<\/p>\n The bill, named after the late Republican senator and which was passed by Congress this month, imposes primary and secondary sanctions on Russia and other countries that support Russia in its invasion of Ukraine.\u00a0<\/p>\n “We all concur \u2013 there must be peace,” Zelenskyy concluded his post, thanking “everyone who stands with Ukraine.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n![\"U.S.](\"https:\/\/i.abcnewsfe.com\/a\/d7224683-1ba3-4491-a306-1d6946f16fc6\/zelenskyy_trump_gty_cw_20260920_1789933344390_hpMain.jpg?w=375 "\\"Anna\\"")
