Lisa Kudrow still loves the songs she performed as Phoebe Buffay on Friends<\/em>. Turning \u201cSmelly Cat\u201d into an impromptu concert for strangers is another matter.<\/p>\n During an August 24 Fresh Air<\/em> interview<\/a>, Kudrow said fans still stop her and ask her to sing Phoebe\u2019s best-known song. Her answer is uncomplicated: \u201cI don\u2019t want to do that. I really don\u2019t want to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n Kudrow had just said she still loves Phoebe\u2019s songs and finds them funny. She also said she has \u201czero complaints\u201d about Friends<\/em>, recalling the fun she had with Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry during the show\u2019s 10-season run.<\/p>\n And \u201cSmelly Cat\u201d has not disappeared from Kudrow\u2019s repertoire completely. She has brought it back for special occasions, including performances with Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga. A random request on the street, however, does not come with the same privileges.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Tonya Mosley brought up Phoebe\u2019s music while discussing Kudrow\u2019s experience watching Friends<\/em> again. Kudrow said the songs still make her laugh before the conversation turned to what fans ask her to do in public.<\/p>\n Singing on command has been off the menu for years. During a 2014 Reddit AMA, Kudrow was already fielding questions about performing \u201cSmelly Cat\u201d for fans. \u201cI have a LOT of people ask. I\u2019ve not done it,\u201d she said, according to ABC News<\/a>.<\/p>\n Kudrow also explained where the song came from.
