A man allegedly went to a Sikh temple in Edmonton, Canada, and stabbed two men on Friday morning, police said.<\/p>\n

Officers responded to the Nanaksar Sikh Temple and arrested the suspect, the Edmonton Police Department said in a statement. The victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to the police.<\/p>\n

The investigation is ongoing and no motive has been revealed, according to police.<\/p>\n

The World Sikh Organization of Canada said in a statement that the attack comes amid a heightened alert among Sikhs in the country.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, threatening calls were made to Calgary Sikh temples, according to the police.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the month, a Sikh truck driver was allegedly assaulted in an Edmonton Walmart. The Edmonton Police Service Hate Crimes Unit is assisting with that investigation, according to the World Sikh Organization of Canada.<\/p>\n

“These incidents are occurring against the backdrop of a documented rise in anti-Sikh hate across Canada,” the group said in a statement.<\/p>\n
