According to <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/axl-rose-reveals-challenging-experience-living-with-tmj-12059607\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PEOPLE<\/a>, Rose described performing through the problem as \u201cchallenging.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also gave the crowd a vivid description of what happens while he sings. Rose compared the noises in his ear to Bugs Bunny chewing carrots and celery as things pop around, an unusual problem for a vocalist whose performance requires extensive movement of his jaw and face.<\/p>\n<p>Rose said he had undergone the procedure only a couple of days before the MetLife concert.<\/p>\n<h2>Rose Says Singing Makes the TMJ Symptoms Hard to Ignore<\/h2>\n<p><noscript><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"&quot;Axl Explains His TMJ &amp; Tooth Issue&quot; Guns N Roses@Metlife East Rutherford, NJ 8\/12\/26\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/SDsp1qvodYU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p>Rose told the crowd that doctors and dentists cannot easily reproduce what his face and jaw go through when he performs. \u201cNone of the doctors, none of the dentists, there\u2019s really no way to describe what you do,\u201d Rose said, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/music-news\/axl-rose-reveals-tmj-sounds-like-my-jaws-gonna-fall-off-1236315693\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Billboard<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He joked about being told not to chew before pointing out that singing requires him to stretch his face in ways that can make every pop and movement of his jaw impossible to ignore.<\/p>\n<p>Rose said the sounds can become alarming enough that he questions whether he should keep doing what he is doing in the moment. As <a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/axl-rose-describes-his-tmj-experience-and-procedure-recovery-12059800\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Entertainment Weekly<\/a> reported, he joked that it can sound as though his jaw is going to fall off, move sideways or become stuck. \u201cWhich, that would be pretty funny!\u201d Rose added, drawing humor from a problem he had just described as physically challenging.<\/p>\n<h2>Part of His Mouth Was Still Numb From the Procedure<\/h2>\n<p>Rose said he had undergone a procedure only a couple of days before the concert. \u201cI had to do a tube,\u201d he told the crowd. \u201cI had that done a couple of days ago.\u201d He then explained that he had not completely regained sensation afterward. \u201cSo now, this side of my mouth is still f\u2014ing numb,\u201d Rose said while indicating the left side. \u201cIt gets interesting. It\u2019s challenging.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The temporomandibular joints connect the jawbone to the skull and help control jaw movement. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/diseases-conditions\/tmj\/symptoms-causes\/syc-20350941\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mayo Clinic<\/a> says temporomandibular joint disorders can cause pain or tenderness around the jaw, difficulty or discomfort while chewing and clicking, popping or grating sensations during jaw movement.<\/p>\n<p>Treatment depends on the cause and severity. The band played 29 songs, opening with \u201cWelcome to the Jungle\u201d and moving through a set that included \u201cMr. Brownstone,\u201d \u201cYou Could Be Mine,\u201d \u201cCivil War,\u201d \u201cSweet Child o\u2019 Mine,\u201d \u201cNovember Rain\u201d and \u201cParadise City.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The set also included \u201cNothin&#8217;\u201d and \u201cAtlas,\u201d two songs released ahead of the band\u2019s 2026 world tour. Concert timing recorded by Setlist.fm places Guns N\u2019 Roses onstage from approximately 7:50 p.m. until 10:50 p.m., making the performance almost exactly three hours long.<\/p>\n<h2>The Tour Is Scheduled to Continue Through December<\/h2>\n<p>Guns N\u2019 Roses remain in the North American leg of their 2026 world tour, with the band\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsnroses.com\/pages\/tour\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">official schedule<\/a> listing shows through Sept. 19 before the group heads overseas again.<\/p>\n<p>Their next scheduled concert after MetLife is Aug. 16 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, followed by stops including Kansas City, Las Vegas, Edmonton, Vancouver, San Diego, Pasadena, Arlington and San Antonio. The North American run is currently scheduled to conclude Sept. 19 at Truist Park in Atlanta.<\/p>\n<p>The international schedule then extends into Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
