Lizzo just dropped a confession that had fans doing a double take, a rewind, and then another double take. The Grammy-winning superstar revealed she did not have sex until her 30s, finally cashing in on a promise she made to her younger herself right after her huge 2020 awards sweep. Yes, that Lizzo. On the Friends Keep Secrets podcast<\/a>, with hosts Benny Blanco, Lil Dicky, and Kristin Batalucco, the 37-year-old opened up about being a late bloomer and admitted she spent years pretending she was not. While most people in the United States have their first sexual experience around 17 or 18, Lizzo took a completely different route and tied hers to something way bigger.<\/p>\n

She made herself a deal. No sex until she won a Grammy. And when she finally took home three in 2020, including wins tied to Truth Hurts<\/em>, she kept her word. Not on the same night, but soon after, once the confetti settled, and the reality hit.<\/p>\n

Now that the secret is out, she says it feels like a massive weight has been lifted. But getting there? Not exactly smooth.<\/p>\n

Before the Grammys, before the glow up, there was a version of Lizzo just trying to survive group chats and side eyes. And according to her, that meant lying. A lot.<\/p>\n

She shared that once in a social setting, especially when she was around other girls, she denied being a virgin and even hype up her supposed sex life just to avoid being judged. Basically, performing with confidence while quietly stressing inside.<\/p>\n
