On March 4, Ryan Michelle Bath\u00e9 posted an Instagram video about meeting Connor Storrie \u2014 the breakout star of HBO Max\u2019s Heated Rivalry<\/em><\/a> \u2014 and did not hold back. \u201cThis happened, and I just want everyone to know that I didn\u2019t fall. I didn\u2019t collapse. I gushed,\u201d she said. \u201cI gushed all over him. Look at him! Isn\u2019t he the best?\u201d Brown hit the comments with what became the headline: \u201cYou \u2018gushed\u2019\u2026 all over him?<\/a>\u201d Thinking emoji. Full stop.<\/p>\n

He launched into the story of the first time he met Michelle Obama, years ago, while filming Army Wives<\/em> on Lifetime. At an event tied to Obama\u2019s Joining Forces effort for military families, the receiving line moved past her. Everyone else settled for a handshake. Brown asked for a hug.<\/p>\n

What followed, in his telling, was practically a spiritual experience. He said she hugged him, he felt \u201cloved and seen,\u201d and Ryan was furious when he got home and kept replaying the moment. Brown himself admitted he knew exactly what was happening: \u201cAnd the more I shared, the more angry she became.\u201d He watched her get angrier. He kept going anyway. Then Robinson produced a framed photo of the legendary hug, and Brown \u2014 boot and all \u2014 jumped up and clutched the frame like he\u2019d just won an Oscar. Bath\u00e9 covered her mouth and stared at him.<\/p>\n

The couple that started the week joking about gushing ended it proving they can survive each other\u2019s fan moments with enough ease to make it look like content.<\/p>\n
