It is unclear whether Epstein attended.<\/p>\n 2017.<\/strong> Documents show Epstein agreed to donate $50,000 to a dinner in honor of Lutnick, per CBS News and CNN.<\/p>\n 2018.<\/strong> The two were still communicating. Lutnick emailed about a proposed expansion of the Frick Collection near their neighboring New York homes, warning it might \u201cblock your sunlight and views,\u201d per CBS News and CNN.<\/p>\n February 10, 2026.<\/strong> Testifying before the Senate Commerce-Justice-Science Appropriations Subcommittee<\/a>, Lutnick acknowledged the island visit under questioning. \u201cWe had lunch on the island, that is true, for an hour,\u201d he told lawmakers. \u201cI don\u2019t recall why we did it. But we did.\u201d He added: \u201cI have nothing to hide. Thomas Massie, who helped push the Epstein Files Transparency Act, called on the DOJ to explain who removed the file and why. Democratic Rep. Ted Lieu, in a post on X, accused the department of a cover-up and called it the \u201cstupidest cover-up in history,\u201d per ABC News.<\/p>\n As the House Oversight Committee continues its Epstein-related depositions and document review, Chairman Rep. James Comer said it is \u201cvery possible<\/a>\u201d Lutnick could be called to testify, per PBS NewsHour.<\/p>\n Rep. Nancy Mace, who sits on the committee, has called for Lutnick to appear before the Oversight Committee. Rep.
