One week ago, Ashley St. Clair accused Elon Musk\u2019s AI of generating sexualized images<\/a> of her. She spoke out, threatened legal action, and called X \u201cthe most dangerous company in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

By Thursday, her account had been gutted\u2014checkmark gone, monetization frozen.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, she posted an apology. Not to Musk, but to his estranged transgender daughter. By Monday morning, Musk announced he was filing for full custody of their son.<\/p>\n

St. Clair\u2019s post came in response to a user who asked how she felt about trans people, given her history of what they called \u201cblatant transphobia.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel immense guilt for my role,\u201d she wrote. \u201cAnd even more guilt that things I have said in the past may have caused my son\u2019s sister more pain.\u201d<\/p>\n

The sister is Vivian Wilson<\/a>\u2014Musk\u2019s daughter, who came out as transgender in 2020 and has publicly criticized her father for years. St. Clair continued: \u201cIdrk how to make amends for many of these things but I have been trying incredibly hard privately to learn + advocate for those within the trans community that I\u2019ve hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n

She predicted what would come next. \u201cEven this reply will become right wing hysteria,\u201d she wrote. \u201cBut yeah I am sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hours later, a right-wing account posted: \u201cElon needs full custody. Coming out in support of trans grooming like this is insane.\u201d<\/p>\n

Musk replied directly: \u201cI will be filing for full custody today, given her statements implying she might transition a one-year-old boy.\u201d<\/p>\n

St. Clair\u2019s post had not mentioned their son.<\/p>\n

St. Clair revealed Musk\u2019s paternity in February 2025 and later sued for sole custody of their son, Romulus. She accused Musk of financial retaliation\u2014withdrawing support, she said, \u201cto maintain control and punish me for disobedience.\u201d<\/p>\n

Musk responded publicly, saying he\u2019d given her $2.5 million and was sending $500,000 a year. He also said he wasn\u2019t sure the child was his. St. Clair fired back that he\u2019d refused a paternity test\u2014despite naming the baby himself.<\/p>\n

By August, she was launching a podcast from what she described as near-eviction.<\/p>\n

St. Clair built her career as a conservative influencer. In 2021, she published \u201cElephants Are Not Birds,\u201d a children\u2019s book arguing against gender transition. Her pinned post on X, from August 2025, reads: \u201ctwitter was way better when it was woke tbh.\u201d It has 1.5 million views.<\/p>\n

Her former audience has turned. One post responding to her apology, now with over 2 million views, called it \u201cone of the most disgusting things I\u2019ve seen.\u201d She\u2019s been blocking critics ever since.<\/p>\n

No court filings related to Musk\u2019s custody announcement have been made public. But St. Clair saw this coming. \u201cEven this reply will become right wing hysteria,\u201d she wrote Sunday.<\/p>\n

By Monday, the father of her child was using it to try to take him.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
