The state of Minnesota and the cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul have filed a lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security to end the “unlawful, unprecedented surge of the federal law enforcement agents into Minnesota,” Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison said at a news conference on Monday.<\/p>\n
“Because this has to stop,” Ellison said, standing alongside Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and Saint Paul Mayor Kaohly Her. “We allege that the obvious targeting of Minnesota for our diversity, for our democracy and our differences of opinion with the federal government, is a violation of the Constitution and federal law.”<\/p>\n
