When you make the next $500, the fee drops to 10%. <\/p>\n Read more about Upwork\u2019s fees here.<\/a><\/p>\n Freelancers complain about these fees, but I think it\u2019s completely fair.<\/p>\n I mean, Upwork is the reason<\/em> you got the business in the first place.<\/p>\n If you hate the fees, what would it cost you <\/em>to create your own platform to create the business that Upwork can give you?<\/p>\n Yup, this is 100% true. <\/p>\n According to Upwork\u2019s Terms of Service, your account can be suspended or terminated any time if you don\u2019t comply with their rules. <\/p>\n This happens on other platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn too.\u00a0<\/p>\n I wouldn\u2019t use this reason to stay away from Upwork, though. <\/p>\n Read and follow Upwork\u2019s guidelines. <\/p>\n Add your clients on LinkedIn, so you have all their contact information. <\/p>\n If your account gets suspended for something unreasonable, you can still get a hold of them.\u00a0<\/p>\n Well, that\u2019s true of some jobs. <\/p>\n For example, I had a contractor friend get tell me about a job on Upwork and said he needed five 1000-word blog posts done in 48 hours. <\/p>\n I thought, okay, this should cost a lot because this is a lot of writing in a limited time frame.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n It turns out that his entire budget for the project was $50. I knew that wouldn\u2019t do, so I declined the offer and moved on.\u00a0<\/p>\n If you wait for projects that you think are worth your time and skill, it will do you a world of good. <\/p>\n Why? One, you get paid more. Two, your track record will attract more high-paying clients.\u00a0<\/p>\n Maybe.<\/em> <\/p>\n I didn\u2019t write this post to convince people to get on the platform. <\/p>\n The point is to shed light on Upwork\u2019s advantages.<\/p>\n The point I\u2019m trying to make is that it\u2019s possible to gain financial success on Upwork. <\/p>\n Yes, it\u2019s going to take time and effort, but it\u2019s doable. <\/em><\/p>\n So is Upwork Legit?
