\u201cAmerican Idol\u201d alum Doug Kiker<\/strong> \u2014 who was known by the moniker \u201cThe Singing Garbage Man\u201d \u2014 died from an opioid overdose, TMZ has learned.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

According to the City and County of Denver Medical Examiner\u2019s report obtained by TMZ, Doug died from the combined toxic effects of fentanyl, methadone, and amphetamines, with recent cocaine use \u2014 and his death has been ruled an accident.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Kiker died last month<\/strong><\/a>, as confirmed to TMZ by his brother William <\/strong>and mother Joyce <\/strong>\u2014 with his ex-fianc\u00e9e, Valerie Cook<\/strong>, telling us she hates that her kids lost their father.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

As TMZ reported<\/strong><\/a> in March \u2026 law enforcement sources told us a pedestrian in Denver noticed Kiker on the street and was concerned about his appearance, thinking he might have been experiencing a drug overdose, and called 911. Paramedics responded and rushed Kiker to a hospital, where he died five days later.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Doug\u2019s death was so sudden and shocking that his sister, Angela Evans<\/strong>, launched a GoFundMe, saying the family needed help covering memorial costs.<\/p>\n

Kiker famously brought Katy Perry<\/strong><\/a> to tears with his rendition of Rascal Flatts\u2019 \u201cBless the Broken Road\u201d during Season 18 of American Idol, earning him a spot in the Hollywood round.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

He was cut in the next round after performing Marvin Gaye<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s \u201cAin\u2019t No Mountain High Enough.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
