Nirvana<\/strong><\/a> fans have something on<\/em> the way \u2026 one of Kurt Cobain<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s guitars is going up for auction \u2014 and it\u2019s got quite a history with the late rocker.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

TMZ has learned Kurt\u2019s white Fender Stratocaster \u2014 which he used and smashed during Nirvana\u2019s 1992 European tour \u2014 will be open to bidders starting Wednesday morning at 9 AM ET. If you\u2019re interested \u2026 it\u2019ll set you back a minimum of $30K, which is the starting bid.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

The guitar was heavily modified and repaired back to working condition throughout the popular tour \u2014 which occurred as the band\u2019s 1991 album \u201cNevermind\u201d skyrocketed them to stardom and helped bring alternative rock to the mainstream.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Kurt\u2019s personally owned and played left-handed Stratocaster was obtained by a former crew member who worked with Nirvana between 1991 and 1993. It was then authenticated and inspected by famed Nirvana guitar tech Big John Duncan<\/strong> \u2026 so fans know it\u2019s the real deal.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Though the minimum bid is $30,000 \u2026 another one of his smashed Fender Stratocasters from the \u201990s sold for over half a mil <\/strong><\/a>in 2023. That was after his blue 1969 Fender Mustang featured in Nirvana\u2019s \u201cSmells Like Teen Spirit\u201d music video sold for an astonishing $4.5 million<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

The rich piece of rock memorabilia is set to hit the market \u2014 online at GottaHaveRockAndRoll<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 just days after the 31st anniversary of Kurt\u2019s death. As you know \u2026 he died from a gunshot wound to the head on April 5, 1994 at the age of 27.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

While fans have speculated he was murdered over the years, a leaked copy of his alleged autopsy report<\/strong><\/a> made rounds last year thanks to a private investigator named Tom Grant<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

The alleged findings claim a suicide note was left in his residence \u2014 which is seen in our gallery of the crime scene \u2014 and a 20-gauge semiautomatic shotgun was found still in his left hand.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

The alleged report also says he died with a mixture of substances in his body \u2026 and photos from the crime scene show a heroin kit and other paraphernalia in a cigar box.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
