George Clooney<\/strong><\/a> was seen out in New York Sunday sporting a brand-new \u2018do \u2026 the A-List actor\u2019s silver mane has been transformed into a thatch of chestnut, and the world wants to know \u2014 is the Oscar-winner displaying newfound vanity, or this altered appearance for a new role?<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Clooney was photographed getting into an SUV outside French bistro Raoul\u2019s in Manhattan\u2019s Soho neighborhood after lunch, where he was joined by wife Amal<\/strong><\/a> and attorney pal Kevin Johnson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Amal was snapped in leggy, flared blue jeans, with a short plaid blazer top over a tank, wearing oversized sunglasses and flashing a huge grin. George was looking fit as usual in his casual getup, wearing Adidas sneakers, tan pants and a black leather jacket and classic aviator shades, hoisting a backpack as he prepared to depart.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Clooney left the restaurant on his way to Broadway for a rehearsal of his new play, \u201cGood Night, and Good Luck,\u201d based on the 2005 film he wrote and directed.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Clooney has up to this point leaned into his distinguished grays, but now he\u2019s doing a dye job for a younger look after years of silver fox locks. In previous interviews, he\u2019s said he had to change his hair color to play a man in his 40s \u2014 in the 2011 film, shot in black and white, he portrays Fred Friendly<\/strong> \u2014 co-producer of a TV news show with journalist Edward R. Murrow<\/strong>. In the Broadway play, Clooney\u2019s cast as Murrow himself.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

The Broadway play and the film are based on real events in the 1950s, during the McCarthy \u201cRed Scare\u201d anti-communist congressional hearings. The play debuts in April, but rehearsals are currently in progress. Break a leg, and a comb, George!<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n\n
