Scottie Pippen<\/strong><\/a> is jumping into the documentary game \u2014 the NBA legend tells us <\/strong>he\u2019s linking up with a top filmmaker, and they\u2019re creating a series chronicling the 1990-1991 Chicago Bulls, focusing on the actual game ball from the title-clinching game!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cWe\u2019re looking to do a documentary on this basketball because we think that there\u2019s a lot of stories to be told,\u201d Pippen told Babcock <\/strong>on the TMZ Sports<\/strong><\/em> TV show<\/strong> (airs nightly on FS1<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI think that ball really was a start of a dynasty and almost, I want to say, the end of a great dynasty in the Los Angeles Lakers, who we\u2019ve known for many years in the \u201980s as \u2018Showtime,’\u201d Scottie said, explaining the significance of the basketball.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Of course, the \u201991 NBA Finals pitted the L.A. Lakers, led by Magic Johnson<\/strong>, James Worthy<\/strong>, Sam Perkins<\/strong>, and Vlade Divac<\/strong>, against the Chicago Bulls, powered by a 27-year-old Michael Jordan<\/strong><\/a> and 25-year-old Pippen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n After dropping game one to the Lake Show, the Bulls won the next four, sending the Lakers \u2014 who won \u2018ships in \u201980, \u201982, \u201985, \u201987, and \u201988 \u2014 packing \u2026 and ending their dynasty for good.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n As for the Bulls, it was the start of one of the most dominant dynasties ever \u2026 and the first of six NBA titles (\u201991, \u201992, \u201993, \u201996, \u201997, \u201998).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/p>\n Scottie says he\u2019s teamed up with the Hidden Empire production company\u2019s Deon Taylor<\/strong> (DT\u2019s working with Floyd Mayweather<\/strong><\/a>, too, on another project<\/strong><\/a>) \u2026 who will bring the vision to life.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n \u201cI think it\u2019s going to be more about the whole run of that season. I am working with a team, but my ideal is to see this ball really sort of tell a story of what it was like for basketball in the \u201990s and what it was like for our journey to get to that first championship.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n There\u2019s more \u2026 Pippen, who has held onto the game ball for 33 years, is also planning to sell a piece of the ball to basketball fans around the world by turning it into a digital token<\/strong><\/a> on the blockchain.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
