Saints star Demario Davis <\/strong>is pumped the Super Bowl\u2019s coming to New Orleans, but the 5x All-Pro wholeheartedly believes Lil Wayne<\/strong><\/a> should be part of the halftime show!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n TMZ Sports<\/strong> asked 35-year-old Davis about the controversial SB situation \u2014 which has the internet\/music world in a frenzy \u2014 in the wake of the NFL announcing Kendrick Lamar<\/strong><\/a> as the halftime show performer, despite Weezy, a legend in the city, wanting the gig.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n While DD makes it clear he\u2019s not disrespecting K-Dot \u2014 in fact, he called Kendrick and Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>the hottest acts in all music \u2014 he also talked about the importance of having someone from Louisiana, given the rich music history, be part of the halftime show.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cGoing all the way back to jazz and all of the huge musicians that come from this particular culture,\u201d Demario said. \u201cAnd then, when you think about the hip hop scene and how much that has taken over sports, and you think about people like No Limit Soldiers<\/strong>, Cash Money<\/strong>, the Hot Boyz<\/strong> [and] Lil Boosie<\/strong> from the area.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cBut, specifically Lil Wayne, you can\u2019t mention New Orleans and think about New Orleans and not think about Lil Wayne.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/p>\n Davis referenced the L.A.<\/strong><\/a> Super Bowl in 2022 \u2026 where Snoop Dogg<\/strong>, Dr. Dre<\/strong> and other Cali legends (like Kendrick) performed a City of Angeles-themed halftime show, which most, including Demario, agreed was awesome!<\/p>\n<\/section>\n <\/a>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n He\u2019d like to see Louisiana do something similar.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n The 13-year NFL vet says there is still time \u2026 and hopes the NFL and Kendrick can work Wayne into the performance, which will be watched by nearly 200 million fans around the globe.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n \u201cI think it would only be right,\u201d DD said.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n \u201cThat\u2019s outside of you know my pay grade and outside of you know my decision. I know the NFL\u2019s working tirelessly; I\u2019m on a lot of those committees that are behind the scenes.
