Kathy Bates<\/strong><\/a> is ending her acting career \u2026 saying she\u2019s got one more TV show left in the tank \u2014 though she nearly didn\u2019t make it at all.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The actress opened up about the end of her career during an interview with the New York Times<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>\u2026 admitting her new role on \u201cMatlock\u201d \u2014 where she plays an older, gender-flipped version of the same character from the \u201980s drama \u2014 is her last part.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The way Bates tells it \u2026 she was considering moving on from acting \u2014 telling her agent she was offically done after a poor experience on a movie set. She wouldn\u2019t say which one.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Then, she says the script for \u201cMatlock\u201d came in \u2026 and, she instantly fell in love with the character right wrongs \u2014 since she faced so many earlier in her life and career.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/p>\n That said, KB\u2019s clear \u2026 this is the last dance \u2014 with no designs to jump on another great drama, even if an excellent script crosses her desk.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Bates say it\u2019s exhausting playing the character \u2026 the 18-episode order certainly taking a toll on the star as well.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n <\/a>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n Bates has had a prolific career, appearing in some of the biggest movies of all time like \u201cTitanic,\u201d \u201cThe Blind Side\u201d and recently appearing in \u201cThe Family Affair\u201d alongside Zac Efron<\/strong><\/a> and Nicole Kidman<\/strong><\/a> \u2026 with her Oscar winning role in Stephen King<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s \u201cMisery\u201d proving a high watermark in her career.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n She\u2019s got a little left in the tank it seems \u2026 but, enjoy her performances while they last!<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n\n![\"kathy](\"https:\/\/etrafficlane.com\/newline\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/1725840403_203_Kathy-Bates-Says-039Matlock039-Will-Be-Last-TV-Show-Before-Retirement.jpg\" "\\"actress\\"")
