Elle King<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about the struggles she faced before giving a drunken performance at Dolly Parton<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s birthday bash \u2026 sharing she\u2019s come a long way in the aftermath of the scandal.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The singer addressed the performance during her appearance on Kaitlyn Bristowe<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s \u201cOff the Vine\u201d podcast, where Elle admitted she had been seriously struggling with her mental health before the tribute show at Nashville\u2019s Ryman Auditorium earlier this year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n As Elle put it \u2026 nobody really knew the extent of her struggles, but she was very sad and dealing with a \u201chigh level of pain.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n She added \u2026 \u201cUltimately, like, I couldn\u2019t go on living my life or even staying in the situation that I had been going through.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Per Elle, she sought professional help after the incident, which she said has helped her heal and deal with her mental health issues \u2026 as well as the aftermath of the disastrous performance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/p>\n Remember, Elle faced an immense amount of backlash when she drunkenly took the stage<\/strong><\/a> and swore as she struggled to perform Dolly\u2019s hit, \u201cMarry Me,\u201d at the concert for the country legend\u2019s 78th birthday. She also told unhappy attendees \u201cYou ain\u2019t getting your money back.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n The Grand Ole Opry, which hosted the event, apologized to the audience for Elle\u2019s behavior. Elle also offered up a mea culpa and copped to being intoxicated onstage \u2026 she also confirmed she apologized to Dolly.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n The country legend stood by Elle amid the backlash, saying Rob Schneider<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s daughter just messed up \u2014 that simple.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n EK previously hinted at her mental health journey back in May, where she explained how she hadn\u2019t slept or eaten leading up to the performance.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
