Steve Buscemi<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s alleged attacker has been arrested in NYC \u2014 and cops say they picked him up after responding to a call at a homeless shelter \u2026 TMZ has confirmed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Law enforcement sources tell TMZ \u2026 Clifton Williams<\/strong> \u2014 the man police believe is the guy who walked up to the actor and punched him in broad daylight \u2014 was taken into custody Friday after cops responded to a harassment call at a homeless shelter in Manhattan.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n We\u2019re told cops say Clifton started making a lost property police report and showed officers ID \u2026 when they recognized his name and then took him into custody. The NY Post<\/strong><\/a> broke the news first.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/p>\n As we reported \u2026 Buscemi was walking down the street in the Kips Bay neighborhood on Manhattan\u2019s east side when he says a dude stepped up and clocked him<\/strong><\/a>. Surveillance video shows SB walking around before the incident<\/strong><\/a> but does not show any violent encounter.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Photos of bruising around Buscemi\u2019s eye surfaced in recent days, but he released a statement Sunday letting his fans know he\u2019s doing alright and recovering.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n New York\u2019s been plagued by random acts of violence<\/strong><\/a> in recent months \u2026 including a couple other incidents involving celebs in the city.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n We\u2019re told Clifton\u2019s currently awaiting charges and has not yet been released.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n\n
