Tom Skerritt<\/strong> has no interest in seeing the latest \u201cAlien\u201d sequel \u2014 instead, he\u2019s keeping his streak going of passing on all the movies after the OG, because he says they can\u2019t compete.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The actor \u2014 who played Capt. Dallas in the original 1979 sci-fi classic \u2014 talked to TMZ ahead of its 45th anniversary, and says he was well aware while making the Ridley Scott<\/strong><\/a> film that it was going to be a classic \u2026 and that\u2019s partly why he hasn\u2019t seen ANY of the others.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He tells us he also figured the studio \u2014 seeing huge dollar signs \u2014 would order up lots of sequels (8 to be exact) which include crossovers\u2026 \u00a0and the upcoming \u201cAlien: Romulus.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Tom says the original\u2019s unduplicated magic was all about what you didn\u2019t see \u2014 and feels the ones that have been cranked out afterward have lost some of that initial magic from #1.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As for him snubbing the other installments \u2026 he tells us he just had a perfect experience making \u201cAlien,\u201d and that nothing else can top that \u2014 including whatever came after. Still \u2026 he admits hearing good things about the first sequel, \u201cAliens\u201d \u2014 but hasn\u2019t watched it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While reminiscing about the first film, Tom says the rumor the cast had no idea how gory and graphic the iconic chestburster scene would be is just plain false \u2026 they definitely knew.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

With that said, he does say they were shocked when it went down \u2014 and he even tells us the blood and guts seen on camera might have been real \u2026 explaining Ridley told him at the time it all came from a butchered cow \u2026 but Tom thinks the guy was just joking (hopefully).<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

On the issue of possibly returning to the franchise for a voiceover or a de-aged performance at some point \u2014 which are all the rage in Hollywood right now \u2014 Tom tells us he\u2019d rather get attacked by a Facehugger \u2026 unless the money was right, of course.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\u201cAlien\u201d turns 45 in June, and \u201cAlien: Romulus\u201d \u2014 which has Ridley attached as a producer \u2014 comes out later this year, but don\u2019t look for Capt. Dallas at the premiere!<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n\n
