Darvin Ham<\/strong> is out of the job — the Los Angeles Lakers just fired their head coach after two seasons on Friday … days after the Purple and Gold were booted from the playoffs in the first round.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Rumors of a change on the bench started right after LeBron James<\/strong><\/a> and Co. lost to the Denver Nuggets … with many pointing the finger at Ham’s lack of leadership or ability to make adjustments.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

It wasn’t all bad for Ham — the team did make a solid run in the playoffs last year … and won the inaugural In-Season Tournament back in December.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Lakers GM Rob Pelinka<\/strong><\/a> addressed the move in a statement … saying, “We greatly appreciate Darvin’s efforts on behalf of the Lakers and recognize the many accomplishments achieved over the past two seasons including last year’s remarkable run to the Western Conference Finals.”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

The Lakers are expected to interview names like Mike Budenholzer<\/strong>, Kenny Atkinson<\/strong> and JJ Redick<\/strong> for the vacant position … as well as current Clippers coach Ty Lue<\/strong>, if he ends up leaving his current gig, according to Shams Charania<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Ham went 90-74 during the regular season with the Lakers … and 11-12 in the playoffs, including a 1-8 record against the Nuggets.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
