Tony Ganios<\/strong> \u2014 famous from \u201cPorky\u2019s\u201d and a ton of other cult classic films \u2014 has died.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The actor\u2019s fianc\u00e9e, Amanda<\/strong>, tells us Tony passed away Sunday at a NY hospital \u2014 this after he was taken in on Saturday and was found to have been suffering a severe spinal cord infection. We\u2019re told he went into surgery, but suffered a fatal heart attack the following day as he was recovering.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Amanda says Tony was on his way to a dialysis treatment Sunday morning when he went into cardiac arrest \u2026 and we\u2019re told he was experiencing organ failure too. Amanda says his death came so suddenly, and she\u2019s absolutely shattered right now \u2026 explaining they were just planning their wedding last week. They\u2019d been together for a couple for at least 9 years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n She posted a sweet tribute to Tony online, writing \u2026 \u201cThe last words we said to each other were \u201cI love you.\u201d Love is an understatement. You are everything to me. \u00a0My heart, my soul and my best friend. #I love you #tonyganios.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Tony will best be remembered for his lead role in the 1981 film, which went down as a fan-fave sex comedy flick and developed a cult following. \u201cPorky\u2019s\u201d also went on to churn out several sequels \u2026 including \u201cPorky\u2019s II: The Next Day\u201d and \u201cPorky\u2019s Revenge!\u201d \u2014 both of which he starred in.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Of course, fans know him as Meat Tuperello \u2026 one of the guys trying to lose their V-cards at a brothel, and who ended up playing peeping Toms. The shower scene from the movie is probably one of the most iconic in the raunchy comedy category of movies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/p>\n While \u201cPorky\u2019s\u201d was arguably his biggest flick\/franchise \u2026 Tony was in a handful of other memorable films as well \u2014 including 1979\u2019s \u201cThe Wanderers,\u201d in which he played Perry.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Other movies of his include \u201cBack Roads,\u201d \u201cContinental Divide,\u201d \u201cBody Rock,\u201d \u201cDie Hard 2,\u201d \u201cRising Sun,\u201d \u201cThe Taking of Beverly Hills\u201d and more. TG had been in shows as well \u2014 such as \u201cThe Ring of the Musketeers,\u201d \u201cWiseguy,\u201d \u201cThe Equalizer\u201d and \u201cScarecrow and Mrs. King.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n He appears to have left showbiz behind in the \u201990s \u2026 but he certainly left his mark on pop culture. In fact, film producer Sean Clark<\/strong> had some kind words for Tony upon hearing about his passing.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n SC wrote, \u201cSad to hear of the passing of Tony Gainos aka Meat from Porky\u2019s This photo is from 20 years ago with Tony and Porky\u2019s co-star Scott Colomby Although I had many business conversations with him over the years I would not say he was a friend.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n He adds, \u201cI did not know him well at all. However he was a nice guy and it\u2019s a shame he passed just 2 weeks away from the big Porky\u2019s reunion at Cult Classics Weekend in Bastrop TX in which he was supposed to attend.
